Believe it or not, Selena was never meant to own her adorable new puppy — but we’re sure glad she got him!
We’ve been obsessed with Selena Gomez‘s dog Baylor ever since she first tweeted a picture of him to her fans, but we learned something we never knew about the puppy when Selena sat down for an interview with Kiss FM. “It wasn’t meant to be for me,” Selena confessed. “I was going to give it to my nana as a gift, but I ended up falling in love with him, so I had to keep him.”
Now that she’s fallen in love with him, Selena says she can’t stand to be away from Baylor.
“I miss him,” she said. “I wish he could come with us everywhere. But he’s growing every week, so he’s at home with my mama. … He’s been my sweetheart, my cuddle bunny.”
And not only is Baylor doing well after his surgery — he was recently hospitalized for eating rocks — but he’s also learning some new tricks!
“We taught him how to sit and give paw,” Selena said. “We got him when he was a puppy, so he was very easy to teach. But the rest was my stepdad — he’s so good with dogs.”
