Relationships are all about compromise. Ali, fight for the one you love and don’t give up on Roberto so easily!
In her first interview since announcing their split on Nov. 21, Ali says, “I found real, true love, and I’m grateful that I had that experience.” But she continues to tell the heartbreaking story of how her fights with Roberto drove her to leave him.
“At the end of the day we both realized we were unhappy more than we were happy,” she complains. “And we both deserved more. I just knew that we needed to go out separate ways.” And that’s exactly what Ali chose to do — leave.
Ali is making the biggest mistake of her life. She was ready to walk down the aisle and become Roberto’s wife almost from the day that she met him, she said when Roberto proposed to her during the final rose ceremony on The Bachelorette. Yet after 18 months, Ali has weakly decided to give up.
Ali first blames her decision on the fact that her and Roberto continually fought. Well, what couple doesn’t fight? Arguments are a healthy part of any relationship. Ali and Roberto just need to learn to communicate with each other. Simple disagreements aren’t an excuse to give up on the one that you love.
Ali next said that she and Roberto had different personalities and different ideas. She liked to go out and he liked to stay in. Again, they need to learn to compromise. How hard is it to mutually decide to go to an early dinner with friends and then spend the rest of the night cuddling on the couch in front of a movie? It sounds to me that Ali has been thinking too much about what she wants and Roberto has been doing the same. Neither of them are ever going to be able to have a meaningful relationship if they can’t learn to compromise, communicate and put their selfish attitudes aside.
These two seem to have forgotten what brought them together in the first place … true love! Roberto was shocked when Ali left him, and Ali maintains that “I still love him, and I always will.”
Well Ali, if you really feel that way, you and Roberto need to find a way to meet in a center place. Maybe try couples therapy? You both need to spend some time talking and figure out how you can make this work.
It’s not going to be easy. Every relationship has it’s ups and downs. It’s just a matter of if you two can come out on top together after a major low.
Ali, you need to stop fighting with Roberto and instead trying fight FOR him! He is the one for you. Don’t give up on the love of your life, ever!
BFFs — do you agree that Ali is giving up too easily on Roberto?
