19 Kids And Counting Recap

The Duggars world tour continues — this time, they visited Israel!

The Duggar family conquered Scotland, Ireland and London, so now it was time to fulfill Grandma Duggar’s lifelong dream by visiting Israel! First up, they stopped at the Jordan River where Jim Bob, Grandma and eight of the kids were re-baptized. Then Jim Bob did the honors of baptizing cousin Amy for the first time. She said her parents were always church shopping, so it just never got done before!

After they were done at the murky river, it was time to fill up at a restaurant with food they weren’t used to, including homemade felafel, but Michelle said it was important for the family to try new things and different cultures.

In the Judean desert, everybody — except pregnant Michelle — took a ride on a camel! Baby Josie even rode with one of the older girls. After the camel ride, the family swim-suited up for a dive in the Dead Sea.

While Jill and Jessica were swimming, they caught the attention of a male swimmer. Concerned poppa Jim Bob went over and introduced himself! He told the camera that his girls are so beautiful, they’ve been attracting a lot of attention lately.

The family also joked about how good the Dead Sea mud is for skin — and Grandma said she was going to take it through airport security!

After that the Duggars went to an open-air market in Jerusalem for a shopping trip. Jim Bob was confused about the money, but luckily he had a guide to show the way.

Little Josie woke up congested the next day, so the parents took her to the hospital while the rest of the family went to Jesus’ tomb. Before going in the tomb, they sang a great rendition of “Amazing Grace.” The kids said this was the best trip ever because the Bible came alive for them.

But the day took a sad turn: preemie Josie was too sick to fly, so Michelle and Jill decided to stay behind with her. The goodbyes were heartbreaking — Michelle cried as she sent her family off! She ended up having to stay an extra week, as Josie got oxygen and the care she needed.

Eventually, they had a doctor fly back with them to the States, just in case something happened! At the end of the episode, the family was reunited back in Arkansas with hugs and kisses.

Have YOU ever been to Israel, HollyMoms? Did you see the episode? What was your favorite part of the trip?

Dying to know who paid for Josie’s care while here and what doctor they got to accompany them back home. That must’ve cost a pretty penny. What plan covers that?

They don’t have a daughter named Jessica… It’s Jessa…
It’s a shame Michelle misses out on so many experiences by being pregnant almost all the time!
