Watch out, ‘Vampire Diaries’ — R-Patz just accused you of copying his film series!

Robert Pattinson is passionate about Twilight, and it seems the Breaking Dawn star has some harsh words for other vampire-based dramas like The Vampire Diaries!

Rob, 25, said he sees too many similarities between his movie and the copycats it inspired, German television station VIVA reports.

“It’s like that Coke versus Pepsi thing, and how Coke just said ‘There’s a reason everyone compares themselves to us,’” he said. “‘Twilight’ was the original and everybody’s trying to copy it. They’re all just trying to jump aboard the ‘Twilight’ train!”

Does the name Anne Rice ring a bell to anyone? Her vampire novels are even older than the Vampire Diaries novels. Get over yourself, Rob.

Oh. And HollywoodLife? Please stop putting words in people’s mouths. Really. Everybody’s intitled to their own opinion and he didn’t outright name any of the other vamp movies/shows out there.

are u really that naiv that you can not see that with Twilight a new era of Vampire Movies and Tv series started..and VD ran its course there is nothing they can do anymore to spark my desire to watch anymore, the story just became completly stupid…Klaus is so out of steam…and True Blood is nothing than a bloody Porno with a dumb Storyline about Snnookkiiee

And Rob never mentioned any show or movie..so get a grip on reality..

TVD was a book before Twilight so Twilight copied TVD. Its just that Twilight movies came out before the TVD TV series.

I watch The Vampire Diaries. I like The Twilight Saga better. Gosh, these people can’t even hear what Rob’s saying! He didn’t mention TVD, but yes, it’s one of them along with True Blood, The Hunger Games and other TV shows all over the world. I sincerely believe that Stephenie Meyer is the brainchild.

I honestly feel like saying “shut your mouth”. Real vampires have been around for hundreds of years. Note I said real. I don’t see too many other tv shows copying the “Christmas decoration” vampire. Bring on the vampires, who are evil, feed on blood, have sex appeal (which, sorry Rob, I just can’t see in you, although many seem to), are nocturnal and dust (Buffy anyone?). Please, get over it. You are not the first, nor the last Vampire.

how many real vampires have you excatly meet the last time i checked vampires arent real so you got say one vampire is the right kind of vampire when you havent meet one.

Um, he didn’t even mention Vampire Diaries. Also, Vampire Diaries the book series came out in 1991. Twilight’s first novel came out in 2005. Over a decade ago! Also, they couldn’t be anymore different.

Hooray Jessica makes sense!! It’s all about Buffy the movie and then Buffy the tv series and Angel too!! These shows stand the test of time!! Bring back the vampires who actually dust!! So in conclusion, I believe Rob should call up Joss Whedon and thank him for the Twilight franchise!

I Dont Think So ! I Love Vampire Diaries It’s Amazing Even Though I Only Watch It Because Kat Graham !! But No Need For All That Right Now. Just Because Other Shows Have Vampires And Other Things Dosen’t Mean Oh They Are Copy Cats ! Watch Your Words Rob ! I totally agree with u Rob, Twilight is the best and everyone else is trying 2 copy the best, however if u watch the interview Rob does not mention Vampire diaries or any other Vampire novel, its just hollywood life twisting stories again! But like i said i agree with Rob that other people are trying to copy Twilight, you can’t beat the best and Twilight is the best xxx

I think everyone is forget about Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel. If it was not for these show in the mid 90′s doing really well in ratings the vampire series would have not been this popular. Hand down Buffy and Angel are the best vampire and supernatural series even thought I love Vampire Diaries and True Blood. These shows or movies do not even come close to Buffy and Angel

I read the “vampire diaries” books in `94.
They had 13 years of time to make it a TV series. But it took Twilight to even the way before TVD got greenlit.
The original fans of the books were very disappointed about the TV series, and started a petition against the change of the story line. Even the author never wanted her story to be slaughtered that way. The TV story line has nothing in common with the books apart from the main characters’ names.
Robert is right, those shows got greenlit following the hype which was caused by Twilight.
And for most fans of Smith’s books, that TV show is crap.

i loved twilight but if we are going to talk about copy, no way buffy the vampire slayer and Angel was before Twilight and sure vampire diaries came after T wilight but it’s better than twilight no offens
