We love how outspoken Ian is in his takedown of corporate greed — good for him!
Ian Somerhalder loves the holidays, but he surprised some fans with a controversial stance on Thanksgiving!
Ian, 32, took to Twitter to wish his followers a happy holiday — as well as to offer an intense argument against Black Friday.
“happy thanks giving,” he wrote. “Im NOT grateful for is the midnight black Friday crap-thousands of families missing out on family time … Stores should be ashamed. Family Is all we have, the foundation of our country and our world.Just my 2 cents, may not matter but I said it”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers — is Ian totally right, or is he just being a Grinch?

I think Ian needs to concentrate on improving his acting and lay off judging people! Many people can’t afford Christmas and need things like Black Friday sso they can give their kids a Christmas. Ian makes a million dollars a year he doesn’t need sales but don’t judge people that do! Ian and Nina seem happy together but are doing a really bad job of showing any sparks this yeat! ian should concentrate on that!

i feel sorry for the average american. you guys have been so brainwashed that you consider consumerism a necessity. it is not. this is the reason why your country is in so much debt.
stop spending money on garbage that doesnt even mean anything! go back to the basics and realise what truly matters. memories with a loved one are so much more worth than a new sh*tty iphone thats gonna be out of fashion next month.
the fact that ians comment is even considered “controversial” says it all! too many brainwashed consumer sheep around in the world. its disgusting.

Don’t act like your better then “the average american”. American’s are hard working people who love there famillies. As for your negative comment. Unfortunately in the real world some people have to work when it’s available in order to feed there family. It’s not just about getting iphones, etc. Ian doesn’t have to worry about getting deals or waiting in lines for a discount. Celebrities like Ian gets all the new toys (gadgets, iphones, etc.) for free!

Hey Tara!
Here’s an idea… why don’t you get a frickin life??!!
Ian is none of your worries, why are you even on this site if you are gonna post bad things about him?
BTW: If you are reading this get a life and eat some cake to calm you down because it is a guilty pleasure.
(guilty pleasure means killing Nina and eating Ian like a vulture.)

It’s easy to sit back and say that when your a millionaire and get all the new gadgets for free. Everyone knows that celebrities get the stuff they use/drive/wear for free. It’s called free advertisement for the company, example Ford, iphone, etc. Unfortunately,we have to work and when us “normal” people want something we have to bargain shop.

I do work retail and nobody forced me to work tonight. You can just as easily request the holidays off. The store I work for provided free food, and you get extra holiday pay. If family is important yo make it a priority and request the time off or even celebrate on another day. Also what about the employees who either don’t celebrate or have anyone to celebrate with? Would you rather be home alone or be with all of your friends at work and celebrate together? I agree with the poster before… it’s easy for him to look down when he makes millions of dollars but some people need that holiday pay!
