Taylor has infamously wrote songs about her ex-boyfriends Taylor Lautner and John Mayer — using her music as a way to remember her past.
Taylor Swift is not one to hide her feelings. In fact, she feels that her music is a personal diary for her. As we have seen her do in the past, Taylor writes songs about what’s going on in her life … especially when it comes to talking about her relationships.
“Writing my own songs was a way for me to create what I wanted to create and music about my life,” Taylor told reporters at the 2011 American Music Awards after winning three awards including Entertainer of the Year. “In that way it kind of became a diary put to music every time I put out a new record.”
Taylor thinks that knowing how to play an instrument is imperative for young musicians. “Learn an instrument because it just makes everything easier,” she advised. “If you’re going to go play out — it helps if you have a guitar and can accompany yourself.”
Though Taylor has won tons of awards before, she was still shocked about her major scores of the night. “I just am so shocked and stunned and absolutely out of my mind happy about this,” she shared. “The fact that the fans have been there for me more and more each year, it just blows my mind. To have won Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards was just absolutely one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me and then a few weeks later here is another one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me. And I can’t even tell you how much I’m loving this fall season so far.”
Taylor had to head straight back to work after the the AMAs. She jumped a plane and headed to New York for two concerts. “With this awards show, we’re actually taking a red-eye flight to New York because we’re finishing the tour with two shows at Madison Square Garden,” she revealed. “We have a show tomorrow night and my whole crew is on the East Coast.”
