Yes I agree but there are people that don’t like just little parts for them it needs to be big and bad. And some people may not want porn but they do want to really get the feel for these two people’s love n they felt it should have been longer.

I understand disappointment over perceived ‘false advertising’.

However, I am so sick of having gore and/or sex in movies I’m glad they edited as they did. I’m sure, to make money – the scenes will be restored for the DVD.

I’m married and my sex life is just fine. I don’t need to have it portrayed on the big screen. If I want some sex scenes, there’s real porn available and you get to see as much as you’d ever want.

Perhaps some of the movie producers are realizing that the internet (=bootlegging/copying) isn’t to blame for poor sales as much as *what* has been offered. Perhaps they’ve looked at past blockbusters and realized there are a great many people who will spend money if the gore and sex aren’t portrayed as much.

If people are really upset about how this movie has been edited – don’t see it. Vote your wallet. Wait for the director’s cut DVD. You’ll get to see it, if you want.

I was also dissapointed with the so called sex scene. They made this big deal about how much work they had put into it and how it was so awkward to film and what not, and they cut the whole thing out of the movie. I mean, everyone was making a big deal about it and then there wasnt even a sex scene! But in all, still my fave movie so far.

If people want steamy sex scenes, there are 1000’s of porn sites for you all to get off on!
If Stefanie wanted sex, she would have written about it but she described two people
Who really love eachother, finally getting to express that love through making it.
People are so obsessed with blood, gore, guts and sex, that is the only
Reason they could be disappointed. Gotta look beyond what visually stimulates and find what stimulates emotionally.
Edward and Bella’s story does just that! Why get technical about it!
Love the Twilight Saga and always will!!!

@romantic – this is about wanting sex and blood. Summitt et al. basically lied to the public for a year promising a hot sex and they didn’t deliver.

I read Breaking Dawn and I’m curious to know if certain elements of the book made it into the movie:

1) The grand solution for Bella to have a baby safety: Edward propositiones Jacob to father her baby, but not by donating sperm in a lab. This is sovled by Jacob BONING HIS WIFE. How can you find loving a guy who disrespects his wife and marriage by offering up his spouse to a guy he hates? Even with the twisted logic Stephenie Meyers has for this, it still doesn’t go down well.

2) It’s mentioned in the book Leah Clearwater lays into Bella for how she treats Jacob. THIS IS LONG OVERDUE. For too long Bella has played with these guys’ emotions. What decent female would accept one guy’s marriage proposal and engagement ring and then makes out with the other within 48 hours? She has these guys put their lives and that of their families on the line for her fickle behind (see Eclipse). Bella is not decent enough to tell her friend it’s over face to face; she takes the coward’s way out and send the wedding invitation. Talk about pouring salt into the wound. Even Bella’s apology to Jacob after being upbraided by Leah is lame.

I doubt these plot points will make it in. They destroy the romantic fantasy, which is the movie’s selling point.

You’re right. I’ve read all the books too, and i loved Breaking Dawn (the book) overall, but i did think that it was getting a little “too fantasy” at some parts like you mentioned in your comment. It was borderline unbelievable. I also thought the part when Jake imprints on Renesmee was strange, I mean it made sense because it explained why he loved bella so much, but the way it was described in the book made it seem like since Jacob couldn’t have Bella, he was going to have her baby instead…like sloppy seconds…was i the only one that found that a little creepy? That would be like your mom’s longtime crush trying to hit it off with you.

@alright – it does sound icky. But I believe the real reason Bella beat up Jacob for imprinting on her daughter is Bella realized she was a jump off, a fling. Even if she chose Jacob and they became intimate, in the end Jacob would have dumped Bella for another, just like Sam ditched Leah for Emily. (Remember Jacob never really imprinted on Bella.) The fact that he wants and truly loves Reneesme is a blow to Bella’s ego.

actually, what ever happened to the results of the movie breaking dawn, it’s still the best for me .. i can’t even imagine what mind had Stephenie Meyer that she could think of that one of a kind story .. i really admire the full cast and crew of the twilight series.

People can’t get enough of what’s laid out in front of their eyes. Can’t they enjoy the movie and not be disappointed by it? IT’S DEFINITELY AMAZING! Can’t they appreciate how the movie followed the book? It stayed true to Meyer’s stoyline.
But there’s a moment where I’m like… “that’s it? that’s the so called sex scene? that’s the so called horror-ish birthing scene?”

THE ONLY THING I’M HOPING FOR RIGHT NOW IS THAT I HOPE THE DVD VERSION OF BREAKING DAWN IS THE R RATED VERSION OF IT.

@haters…. The reason why people are disappointed is that Summit and the actors have hyped how steamy the sex scene is and how gory the birth scene is for over a year; and on opening night they got a big letdown. People are coming away feeling bamboozled. All that talk was a marketing strategy to get butts in the seats in theaters. I believe Condon and company knew how far they can go to keep BD PG-13 in the early filming stage. If there was a problem the trade magazines and solid entertainment sites would have reported BD caught an R rating and they went back to cut in order to get PG-13. The talk now about the disappointment of edited scenes is a ploy to get everyone to buy and rent the DVD, promising the juicy stuff will be back in.

FYI the scene you refer to here of the woman walking to the Volturi does happen halfway through the credits. That is why people shouldn’t rush out of the theater.

The scene with the volturi is in the film but it is an extra scene at the end of the credits. A lot of people missed it when they left as the credits began. I agree with you about another book, there is a whole new story that could be followed on…

The first movie sucked…hardly followed the book at all. New Moon was an inmprovemnent, Eclipse was great, and I was expecting Breaking Dawn-Part 1 to be this extraordinary and intense, full of life and emotion and left the theatre completely and totally disgusted and disappointed. There were some mildly entertaining scenes and touching spots (kudos to Kristen…her acting was awesome this movie) but as a whole movie…lame, dull, emotionless, and for lack of a better word: CHEESY! Didn’t dig hearing the wolves ‘speak’ to one another…reminded me of Darth Vador’s “Luuuke…I am your faaaatherrrr”. I read all the books severals over again, so the fact that the 1st half is written from Jacob’s perspective is probably why I found it all to be so screwy. Part 2 better make up for what this one lacked. Man, I’m pissed…what a buzz kill.
