'X Factor' Results: Should Rapper Astro Have Been Sent Home For Rudeness?

Thu, November 17, 2011 9:27pm EDT by 113 Comments

In the most shocking results show of the season, Astro and Stacy Francis were in ‘The X Factor’ bottom two. Did the judges make a BIG mistake?

We’re still stunned. After week after week of flawless performances, 15-year-old rap prodigy, Astro, was in the bottom two, alongside Stacy Francis on The X Factor Nov. 17. WTF?

However, what happened next was what really set us off our rockers. First, Stacy came out and belted an incredible version of “Amazing Grace.” Then, Astro — who’s always been too cocky for his own good — announced he refused to sing for people who wanted him gone.

Eventually, he decided to sing, but it was weak and Simon Cowell told him he disgraced the show and his mom. What a little punk!

The best part? Paula Abdul, Simon and his mentor, L.A. Reid all voted to keep him around, despite his crappy attitude. However, by this point, we started to feel a little bad for the kid — he’s crying and it’s obvious he feels bad.

Poor Stacy. She got sacrificed, but we had a feeling it was coming. What did YOU think of tonight’s dramatic X Factor elimination? Were you surprised Astro was in the bottom two??

That boy is too disrespectful. The judges sent home some really good kids and kept the Brat. He does have a mom and dad. I believe his parents cannot do anything with him. I think he is ruling his parents home. Spare the rod you spoil the child. This boy need to go to the school of hard knocks.

Send his butt home. Let him think of the error of his ways. That may help him to grow to respect others and bring proudness to his parents.

I don’t consider what Astro does as singing. Can’t tell from it if he can even carry a tune. If it’s really a singing contest, then contestants should sing. He’s a little arrogant to me. I think he should have been sent home, but I do agree that Stacy’s performance was horrible.

The judges’ decision to keep Astro and dump Stacey completely discredits the idea that the “bottom two” are “singing for their lives” at the end of the show. The “fix was in” from the beginning. Astro could’ve flipped off the judges, and he would’ve been put through anyway.

I feel as an African American male this kid needs strong leadership.Someone is failing this kid, and America is wittnessing it before their eyes. He’s been through quite a bit, and trying to act tough to hide the hurt. I personally would curse his little out! and then be the male figure he needs before he throws all of his potential in the garbage where all to many of us have.

As awful as Astro behaved let’s be honest he didn’t belong in the bottom two! He out performed Drew, and Leroy but he landed in the bottom two. Did the kid act awful yes he did! He embarrissed himself, LA Reid, the show, and his mother of course. But to be honest I did feel bad for him,he was really hurting, and totally unprepared mentally and emotionally. Astro all he knew he was better and that was as much preparation he had. Astro has not been taught how to behave in these types of situations.LA I am sure will chew his little …..out! and let him know with an attitude like that he will never be anything in this business but another poor kid from Brooklyn rapping in the hood! So let’s give him another chance

DEFINITELY LITTLE COCKY, RUDE ATTITUDE ASTRO SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT HOME. STACY IS MUCH MORE TALENTED THAN HIS HOLLERING AND SCREAMING ACROSS THE STAGE. PLUS HE IS ONLY THINKING ABOUT HIS ABILITY TO GET GIRLS FROM BEING A RAP STAR. IT WAS IN HIS SONG, AND HE’S SAID IT ON INTERVIEWS. HOW IMMATURE IS THAT. APPARENTLY WHAT’S HAPPENING TO JUSTIN BEIBER HASN’T MADE AN IMPRESSION ON THE OVER INDULGED LITTLE BRAT. SHAME ON PAULA FOR NOT VOTING TO KEEP STACY ON. YOU PRETTYY MUCH KNEW SIMON WAS GONNA VOTE HER OFF. HE’S BEEN DOGGING HER ALL ALONG. YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN HER A FIGHTING CHANCE BY TYING IT UP, AND LETTING THE PUBLIC DECIDE. AND SIMON, HOW COULD YOU REWARD SUCH BRAT LIKE BEHAVIOR. IF THE KID CAN’T TAKE DISAPPOINTMENT OR CRITICISM, HE DOESN’T NEED TO BE IN THE GAME. JUST LIKE YOU WENT BACK AND RETRIEVED MELANIE, WHO HAS A PRETTIER VOICE THAN YOUR GIRL RACHEL CROW, YOU SHOULD GO BACK AND GET STACY AND SEND THE BRAT PACKING!!!!!

First of all he sings is rap rap rap. Tired of hearing it. Beyond that, he disrespected the judges, the show, his fellow contestants and most of all AMERICA. This spoiled kid walks around with the attitude that he is greatness in the music industry. Who does he think he is? Music greats don’t even act this way. I don’t want to perform. GIVE ME A BREAK. Your right you don’t have to perform and America should see to that by not voting for him at all next week.

Shameful that bad behavior and disrespect gets applauded and rewarded. I’m not challenging Astro’s talent, but there are other teens on the show that have demonstrated a level of maturity and humbleness that is admirable. Astro has demonstrated arrogance from the beginning and I don’t want his attitude and behavior to be linked to his age and hip-pop. Rudeness and disrespect is just that without coloring it with age, gender, race or type of music. As viewers and adults, we have the responsibility to support positive behavior, if we don’t, we don’t have the right to complain when kids and adults misbehave.

This kid showed upmost disrespect for the judges, the show and most of all AMERICA. This arrogant kid did not make it yet in the music business and yet he pounces around like is big time. I never saw big time names in the music industry act like this. He should be taught a lesson in life and the public should give it to him by not voting for him and eliminate him next week.

Although Astro has great talent, there is almost 100% chance he is going to be sent home next week just because of his stank attitude. Astro you are playing with the big dogs and if you cant hang you need to stay on the porch. You little stank attitude is not going to get you anywhere in life but a bunch of woulda coulda shoulda’s. Your fans are dissappointed in you and just because you was in the bottom two doesnt mean you can get on the stage and give a sorry performance. I hate to say it but your chances of stardom is 90% out the window. Nice going you and your attitude.

Maybe Astro’s attitude was just him acting tough trying not to cry. In the end, his emotions won out. Good for LA and Simon for letting him know they were disappointed. I suspect he’s not had strong male role models in his life. I say, give the kid a break. He’s got talent and is likely much more marketable than Stacy. Though Stacy sings amazing gospel. In the end, the public will decide.

I am very disappointed in the judges decision last night. At 15 you are old enough to know right from wrong and the value of respect. Here Astor had been given an opportunity of a life time where he had a following base. Last night he was not only disrespectful to the judges and his mother but also to his fan base. And his calls disrespect should have shown the judge that on a maturity level he is not ready for this yet. He let the hype get to him and think he is unstoppable. Guess what Astor, you are not. After last night performance you probably have lost most if not all you fan base. And I am sure your idea Jzzzz was very disappointed in you also and for the judges at award such rude behavior I am sure the show will drop in rating also cause for one they have lost me as a fan.

It’s a matter of respect for the people and the judges and astro has definitely shown disrespect. He should be sent home so he can learn how to appericate the opportunity he had. He act like he is untouchable and he dont need anyone. Wrong dude you needed the support from the people because they were the ones who kept you voted on. You showed everyone the type of young person you really were. Sorry fans.

I can not believe the judges voted to save an ungrateful little brat that Astro was last night. He acted like a real punk and you judges rewarded him for this behavior. Shame on you. What kind of message are you sending to the youth of today. If one of the adults would of acted this way they would of been sent packing as they should of been. If this brat acting child acts this way now without money how is he going to act if he would win. I truely hope the public shows him this is not the proper way to go after something that can be a true life changing experence buy not voting for him. A big BOOOOOOOOOO to you judges for allowing this to happen and rewarding him for this.

May no longer be an X Factor Fan

Posted at 7:54 AM on November 18, 2011

Simon & LA …WRONG, WRONG, WRONG…. At 14 Astro knows the difference between right and wrong. He just has no manners. He’s acting like the spoiled brat that he has been from the start. He’s not ready for this, nor ever will be unless he learns humility. Can you imagine what he would be like in 7 to 10 more years if someone doesn’t set him straight? Yes he’s a kid, BUT that’s NO excuse to behave like a two year old. My 5 year old watched and even said he was being a bratty. If a five year old can see it, why couldn’t Simon see it? Quit making excuses for this kid. He can have all the talent in the world, but with this kind of attitude Simone might as well start flushing his money down the toilet now. Simone. Get rid of Astro now before it cost you the X Factor show. I’ll stop watching the show based on the allowance of this behavior. Do the right thing for the fate of Astro, stop the sense of entitlement now before he wrecks his future.

I am in total shock! There are too many people out there just hoping for a chance to make there dreams come true and for Astro to act this way is unacceptable. I understand he is young but he is old enough to know that is not right. Now the judges??? They are definitely old enough to know! He does NOT deserve to be on this show any more. I really admired him for his hard work and the fact that he wrote his own material but now I would never buy a record from him. He should have been eliminated and if someone wanted to pick him up after that… so be it. But I would have hoped they would have made him give a public apology and worked with his attitude first!

its all just entertainment, some posters on here get pretty worked up.. keep things in perspective people….bottom line- Astro is talented- i’ll give him that [ writing a new rap every week takes creativity] but he acted like a cocky little jerk and that was a deal breaker for alot of viewers. Stacy was just plain bad like most of them on the show. who knows- maybe the show is rigged and who cares- its just a show

I agree. It’s entertainment and maybe Astro has had a bad time and is expecting viewers to vote him off. I do hope people will be more forgiving and vote for according to his talent.I think his crying shows that he is so sorry for acting out.

The judges are a bunch of hipocrites. They bash on each others contestants about doing the same thing each week. This week was rock. Rap is not rock!!! They giving this kid Astro false hope. America voted him in the bottom 2. The judges just sent a bad message to the youth of America, by rewarding disrespect and a selfish bad attitude.

As long as we have ridiculous judges who keep new talent confined to what they think is current, the music industry will never change. Because of this lunacy, our music has remained stagnant, promoting all this pseudo disco (which people laughed at in the seventies) and rap. It’s time for a change. There is absolutely no music in Astro. He recites street poetry to other people’s music! No harm to the kid (for that is what he is), but it’s time for a change.
