Demi announced on Nov. 17 that she was divorcing Ashton after six years of marriage, but a source close to Ashton tells HollywoodLife.com that they’ve been broken up for almost six months!

Demi Moore has been plotting her divorce from Ashton Kutcher for months! A source tells HollywoodLife.com that Demi had plans to divorce Ashton before news broke of his alleged tryst with 22-year-old Sara Leal. That in fact the only reason Demi waited so long to announce their split was out of respect for Ashton’s new Two and a Half Men gig.

“Demi had many moments where she almost filed for divorce,” a source tells us. “But something would always come up. When Ashton got his job with Two and a Half Men they talked about waiting before splitting. But when the cheating allegations began swirling, Demi couldn’t take it anymore so she decided there was no point in prolonging it.”

Many thought that Demi was going through counseling to save her marriage but our source says it was Ashton who was pushing to try and make it work.

“Demi has been disappointed in Ashton for a long time,” the source says. “She just felt like it was time to get out.”
