The Jake-Cassie-Adam triangle got even sharper Nov. 10! Join me and my teen-girl emotions as we analyze the situation.
Nothing helps you get over your grief quite like a little revenge, so Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) made it her personal mission to expose Jake (Chris Zylka) on the Nov. 10 episode of The Secret Circle — and expose him she did, with a little help from Adam (Thomas Dekker) who had his own motivations for keeping Cassie (Britt Robertson) and Jake apart.
Knowing he couldn’t get too close to Cassie, Jake tried to push her away with a simple “I’m not interested” when she asked him about the obvious spark between them. But after creepily staring at her through her bedroom window, he had a change of heart and decided to escort her to the maritime gala.
But even Jake’s feelings for Cassie couldn’t keep her from getting kidnapped by his merry band of witch hunters. After much convincing — and a few tears of unspeakable beauty — Jake eventually teamed up with Faye and Adam to rescue Cassie, at which point he and Adam fought over which of them got the pleasure of saving her.
It was like watching two dogs fight over a bone. Two freakishly handsome dogs.
(Side note: I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll never stop saying it — this Adam-Cassie nonsense needs to just stop. Jake and Cassie have insane chemistry whenever they’re on the screen together, and honestly, I’m just not feeling it between Cassie and Adam. There were so many solid “Cake” moments tonight, I can’t help but ship them.)
Adam ultimately got the honor of playing Cassie’s knight in shining armor, while Jake stayed behind and learned a mind-blowing secret: Cassie is “not the only child of Blackwell in the circle.” (Say WHAT?)
Meanwhile, Diana (Shelley Hennig) admitted to “desperately missing Adam,” which is good, because I’m desperately missing them as a couple. Too bad bad Melissa’s (Jessica Parker Kennedy) cousin Holden (Arlen Escarpeta) arrived in Chance Harbor this week to muck up Diana and Adam’s inevitable reconciliation. It turns out Diana has had a thing for Holden since they were kids, and I do not approve.
The episode ended with Jake disappearing into the night with the other witch hunters, leaving the circle — and the viewers — speechless. Is it Jan. 5 yet?
So what’s on your mind, Secret Circle fans? Do you think Cassie has a sibling out there, or could be someone we already know? And will the circle ever trust Jake enough to let him in again? It’s going to be a long wait until Jan. 2012, so let’s start theorizing!
