Creative director for the iconic Alexander McQueen fashion brand, Sarah Burton, was honored with Harper’s Bazaar’s ‘Designer of the Year Award’ at the magazine’s annual Women of the Year Awards ceremony!
Sarah Burton may just be having the best year ever! After receiving a ton of favor and recognition for designing the infamously breathtaking and beautiful wedding gown that Kate Middleton, aka the Duchess of Cambridge, wore down the isle at her royal wedding to Prince William, the Alexander McQeen creative director was honored with the Harper’s Bazaar ‘Designer of the Year’ Award– An award only coveted by the high and mighty of the fashion industry!
The event, held at London’s Claridge Hotel was filled with the creme de la creme of fashion, all there looking ever so chic to pay their respects to this year’s award winners. Singer Florence Welch, sporting- what else- a lace Alexander McQueen gown, presented Sarah with the award and spoke very highly of the designer, Harper’s Bazaar reported. “She is so evocative of romance. Can you imagine what her brain looks like?”
We can only imagine that it’s filled with the most beautiful and creative of things!
