During an interview, Kris Jenner called Kris Humphries an ‘indian giver,’ which sparked an entire controversy!
Poor, Kris Jenner! Not only is she being forced to talk about her daughter Kim Kardashian‘s divorce over and over again while she promotes her book, now she has her foot in her mouth after referring to her former son-in-law, Kris Humphries, as an “indian giver” for asking for his $2 million ring back. After hearing Kris’ comment on Good Morning America Nov. 3, Jacqueline Johnson Pata, Executive Director of the National Congress of American Indians, told HollywoodLife.com she found the remark “irresponsible and inappropriate.”
“The phrase ‘Indian giver’ is wrong and hurtful,” Pata said. “The cultural values of Native Americans are based on giving unconditionally and empowering those around them. Instead this cultural value is forgotten when negative stereotyping of Native people occurs.”
To make matters worse, Kris made the offensive comment during the worst possible time — Native American Heritage Month.
“November is Native American Heritage Month and this moment calls for a reflection on the contributions of America’s first peoples to this great country,” Pata explained. “We invite the Jenner and Kardashian family to join with the country in learning more during Native American Heritage Month.”

Mrs. Jenner should apologize for her ignorant comment and Kim should most definitely give back the ring. She may not have a LEGAL obligation to do so but she definitely has a MORAL obligation. Why would she want it other than to sell it and add to her already large bank balance. Perhaps they could jointly agree to sell it and donate to charity. Honestly, I do not think Kim has the maturity or an “other-directed” bone in her body that would permit her to do that. She certainly didn’t learn anything like that from her mother.
