She gave birth to a baby boy Oct. 26 inside an art gallery!
Performance artist Marni Kotak said giving birth is the “highest form of art” — and she shared that experience with a live audience! At 10:17 a.m. on Oct. 26, Marni delivered a 21 inches long baby boy that weighed 9 lbs., 2 oz.! She gave birth at Microscope Gallery in Brooklyn after spending weeks in a home-birth center she had set up there, according to The Huffington Post.
The gallery issued a statement announcing the birth, but it did not comment on how many people attended or other details. However, a video of the birth is going to be added to the exhibit!
The Huffington Post reports that all of Marni’s performances deal with everyday life experiences. She said she wanted to show “this amazing life performance that … is essentially hidden from public view.”
Congratuations, Marni! HollyMoms, would YOU go see this show?
