Amanda and Raffaele Sollecito had only been together for one week before they got caught in the middle of a murder case that would change the course of their lives.

Amanda Knox, 24, and former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 27, have had a lot to talk about after spending four years in prison and being falsely accused of a murder they allegedly did not commit.

So much, in fact, they talk on the phone everyday.

“We need each other — we speak to each other on the phone and write to each other every day,” Raffaele says in a tell-all interview with the Italian weekly Oggi (via The Daily Mail).  “We need to speak and write to each other to try and understand what happened to us and to look forward to a future that appeared broken forever but instead we can still build on.”

This is his first interview since being released on appeal on Oct. 3rd. He also revealed he is also planning a trip to the U.S. to visit Amanda.

“I will certainly go and see Amanda. She asked me over and I accepted with pleasure and there is no saying I will wait until Christmas,” he says. “I could go earlier – I could go at any moment. I really want to see her again, to speak with her and look into her eyes.”

It’s hard to imagine what the two went through, and we’re glad they have one another to lean on.

“We have so many things to say to each other. We spent four years in a circle of hell, we suffered unspeakably and it ruined our lives,” he says.

It’s nice to hear Raffaele open up after years of silence. But the big question still remains — when will Amanda give her tell-all interview of her side of the story?
