I think the reason for the outrage when Miley did those things was that some of them were done while she was still a Disney star and had a show on the Disney channel. I am not justifying or vilifying anything either Miley or Demy has done that is considered “wild”. I am just considering why there may have been what you feel is a double standard.
Also, it’s sad that you, and most likely others, feel that Demy is only getting attention because she went to rehab and has spoken out about issues important to her. I think speaking out about those issues is why she is now considered “a good influence”, as you say. I don’t recall her being considered a role model prior to that, just a nice girl (but that is the persona all stars try and pull off).
Having spoken out about things she has suffered, she is able to influence young people to stop bullying, and love their bodies, and not look to models for how to look. As to the issue that people think Demy is “perfect”, I haven’t found that to be the case. If anything she has been under more scrutiny than ever, and people have been cruel about her weight.
I think people need to stop comparing all of the Disney stars personally. They are all talented, but none are perfect. So why compare the “bad” things they have done?

Same with her tattoo, Miley got her first tattoo and was called a wild child, a slut, a bad influence and a whore
I’m so frickin sick of (even though I love demi) Demi getting all this attention because she had an eating disorder and he was in rehab and now everything she does is perfect
Don’t you remember she is/was dating a 30 something year old? That she was doing drugs and drinking (part of what she went to rehab for) and that she posted a picture of her back up dancer paractlly licking her boobs and she got called a ‘good influence to girls everywhere (HLS words not mine)

And I am so sick of Miley fans playing the victim on every single Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato post. The difference between Demi is that she sought help for her problems instead of setting up paparazzi photos and leaking nude photos and videos of herself doing drugs for the attention. Miley has had a bad reputation for years and seems to enjoy it.

Its like you learn my thoughts! You seem to grasp a lot approximately this, such as you wrote the book in it or something.
