What should I wear when I travel? I want to look stylish and I also want to show off my thinner frame but I want to be comfortable.
“I really love the new thinner the thicker knit capri pants at j crew and the Gap. They feel like pajamas and a super flattering. Pair these pants with a long sleeve tighter fitting tshirt, a thin merino cardigan and a great trench coat. The coat is a fantastic blanket on plane or can be rolled up into a pillow. Layers are always best wear when traveling so you can peel away or warm up.”
What should women keep in mind if they want to look trendy at different ages?
“Trendy is not always the best direction for everyone. Keep in mind that the current fascination for skinny jeans are not for all — nor are super short skirts and dresses. What works is what is best for your own body. Find a celebrity that has a frame like your own body and see what works on them. There has never been a better time in retail where you can find a variety of different trends that work for you whether you are a Carrie. Charlotte, Samantha or Miranda. The best part of fashion now is that with actresses in all shapes and sizes, it is a fun way to find a great look to emulate, unlike the size 0 models that ruled magazine covers. Trends work best when used in moderation.”
I’m in my early 30s but I’m a mom — how can I dress stylish and trendy without looking out of place? Where should I shop?
“Go basic and add pops of trend. You can start off with a pair of jeans that are the most flattering for your body type and a simple flirty polka dot or solid silk top from Madewell. Top it off with a little boys blazer from J crew or Old Navy. Add color with a pair of leopard smoking loafers from Nordstroms and a great small cross body purse from Anthropologie. If you want to add a great necklace with ribbon you can add a little color and femininity. Trend is really best if tried out initially with your accessories. Basic looks with a little spice are really the secret to looking stylish.”
