And another study says that number could be even higher!

YourBabyDomain.com conducted a (nonscientific) survey that estimates 8% of parents regret their chosen name for their baby! And a survey by Baby Center says it’s higher — 11%!

According to ABCNews.com, parents cited a number of reasons for their regret including being influenced by trends or discovering other parents had picked the same name!

“In our culture names are more important than ever before, and so parents want their name to be as unique as possible,” Amanda Barden, author of Baby Names Made Easy, told ABCNews.com. “But parents also don’t want their kids to stand out that much. So they make a decision, and they regret it because it sounds too whacky.”

Cleveland Evans, a psychologist and professor at Bellevue University, said most names are harmless to a child and that teasing takes place regardless of the name.

HollyBaby.com wonders if any celebs forget their unique children’s names: Gwyneth Paltrow and Apple? Katie Holmes and Suri?

Let’s take our own survey, HollyMoms! Do you regret your child’s name?
