Taylor Swift tells Ellen DeGeneres she doesn’t even have a crush right now — but that she wants to fall in love!

Taylor Swift is famous for singing about fairy tales and boys, so imagine Ellen DeGeneres‘ surprise when the 21-year-old singer revealed her true relationship status on the show Oct. 19.

When Ellen asked how Taylor’s boyfriend liked her new fragrance, Wonderstruck, Taylor laughed. “I don’t have one. I keep telling you that,” she said.

The country crooner — who has been famous for dating A-listers ranging from Taylor Lautner to Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Jonas — expanded on her current dating, or lack thereof.

“If I didn’t and I was (acting shy) I don’t have boyfriend, like ‘oh my god,’ you’d know I had a boyfriend,” Taylor said. “I for real don’t have a boyfriend. I sit by myself and I watch Law & Order. I don’t have a boyfriend. I don’t even have like kind of a boyfriend. I don’t have someone that I’m texting that is a guy that someday might be my boyfriend. There’s like nothing going on right now.”

She continued, “If you’re the girl that needs a boyfriend and once she loses that boyfriend, needs to replace it with a different boyfriend…it’s just this constant stream of boyfriends all the time. I don’t feel like I ever want to be that girl. I want to be the girl that when she falls in love. It’s a big deal and it’s a rare thing.

Wow, Taylor sure has the right idea when it comes to boys!
