This is the first child born to a ruling French leader since Napoleon! Wow!
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy gave birth to her first child with Nicolas Sarkozy Oct. 19, according to People. The 43-year-old French First Lady delivered around 8 p.m. at the Clinque de la Muette.
The baby girl’s name is unknown, and Carla has said she won’t be releasing photos. She claims the French people wouldn’t be interested in them!
Carla and Nicolas married in February 2008, and they both have children from previous marriages.

UPDATE: The couple have announced the name of their newborn daughter! It’s Giulia! In her announcement, Carla wrote “I am deeply touched by the many messages of congratulations that I have received since the birth of our daughter.”
