The ‘Breaking Dawn’ star and ‘American Idol’ singer solidified their whirlwind romance with a hush-hush trip down the aisle — we’re so happy for them!
The Breaking Dawn wedding may be less than a month away, but star Nikki Reed and American Idol singer Paul McDonald beat Edward and Bella down the aisle!
Nikki, 23, and Paul, 27, wed Oct. 16 at a private ranch in Malibu, Calif., Us Weekly reports. The 100 guests in attendance were treated to a beautiful and intimate ceremony!
“We couldn’t be happier,” the couple said. “[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!”
When asked if their wedding would be anything like Edward and Bella’s wedding, Nikki told us exclusively — absolutely not!
” No! No, they had a beautiful wedding, but Paul and I are just not Edward and Bella .. AT ALL! So something a little more low key,” she told us in an exclusive interview at Ubisoft’s Just Dance 3 launch party in LA.
The two began dating shortly after they met in March 2011 at the Little Red Riding Hood premiere. A quick trip down felt instantly right to Paul and Nikki.
“You know, my parents are from the South, so of course that was brought up … it is one of those things that everything fell into place, so it was just kind of meant to be,” Paul told Hollywoodlife.com in an exclusive interview.
So did the American Idol star sing a tune at his own wedding (which the pair confirmed to us was an open bar!) ?
“Well, I have a whole bunch of songs, so maybe I’ll bust out something!” he told us in an exclusive interview. Paul’s American Idol friend Stefano Langone told us he was planning on singing at the wedding, but there’s no word yet to confirm if he did or not.
Nikki also revealed to us that Paul is quite the romantic!
“He really is into taking me on dates… So every night he is like lets go on a date! I’m like dude we are in our back yard and it feels like a date! Every time we have dinner, he takes all the pictures from around the house and sets up the table with all the pictures and candles and all of the flowers,” Nikki told us exclusively.
But the big question remains unanswered — did Nikki’s co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson attend the wedding?
