If you want to sing all night and have one of the best concert experiences of your life, nothing will prepare you for a night out with the legendary rock band Journey! You’ll have an epic time so Don’t Stop Believin’!
A majority of the bands out today could learn a thing or two about showmanship and talent from the boys in Journey. While out at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 11, they had myself and over 18,000 fans dancing and singing all night. Much to my delight one of those fans was Buzz Lightyear himself, Mr. Tim Allen dancing away next to me and singing such hits as “Any Way You Want It” and “Seperate Ways”. His new show might be called Last Man Standing, but this night he was one of the many standing in enjoyment.
To get you geared up for a night of Rock & Roll, you instantly get in the mood with tremendous sets by Night Ranger and Foreigner to tide you over before it was time for the 15 plus song set from Journey. Hit after hit played as if it was straight from the CD. No lip synching when you see a show to this magnitude, its all professionalism.
And in one of the more poignant moments of the night, guitarist Neal Schon offered his PRS (Paul Reed Smith SE) guitar that he played all night to a ecstatic young fan in the front row who is living with Down Syndrome after playing their hit, “Any Way You Want It”. Let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Then to end the night, they played which is arguably the greatest song ever made, “Don’t Stop Believin” that was followed up by not just any regular old fireworks display but an epic fourth of July type spectacle that could only be seen to be believed. Trust me it was EPIC!
So HollywoodLifers, if you weren’t thinking of hitting up a concert soon, let alone a Journey concert then I am here to tell you that those thoughts need to change. It is easily the best concert going today! To miss it would be a HUGE regret!

I have been a Journey fan for so long I don’t even remember when I first fell in love the band. They have been by far my favorite band since the 80′s when I saw them live in Champaign, Il. But, the statement ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ might be one of the best songs ever is a pretty far stretch. Let’s not forget the many classics by Led Zeppelin and others of that era, as well as other Journey songs which many of their original fans find better. But, you are entitled to your opinion and I do respect it.
