Amanda’s dad confirms that she saw David just hours after she returned home to the United States!
After returning home to Seattle, Wash., Amanda Knox was reunited with her former boyfriend David Johnsrud — the guy she dated before going to study abroad in Perugia, Italy. While Amanda was imprisoned in Italy over the past few years before being cleared on the charges of murdering her former roommate Meredith Kercher, Amanda and David stayed in touch through letters and phone calls. But according to Amanda’s dad, Curt Knox, Amanda and David are just friends right now.
“Amanda has been around DJ [since returning home],” revealed Curt, reported the New York Post. But they aren’t “boyfriend and girlfriend” again.
Amanda just wanted to see her friend. “It’s a friendship, and that’s what it is,” shared Curt. “It’s 48 hours in; it’s a little early to be dealing with that.”
David visited Amanda behind bars in Italy last year. After seeing her, he told the London Mirror that they planned to go on trip together when Amanda was released. “We’ll go backpacking, away from any cameras,” he said.
While in prison, Amanda wrote a letter to her former Italian lover Raffaele Sollecito that she still had feelings for David.

this whole david thing is odd. after what she’s been through, wouldn’t being with family be what you wanted most? yet she’s writing letters to a couple of boys (or maybe more) and planning getaways? maybe he’s delusional and making stuff up, but it seems a bit off to me… as her father suggests with his comments that it’s a little early for that.
