Oh, no! Things are going so well for Taylor Swift…why is her new music ‘sad’?!

It’s been nearly a year since Taylor Swift released her third studio album, Speak Now, so naturally, Swifties worldwide are already chomping at the bit to hear new songs. Even though we won’t get another album for probably another year, the 21-year-old singer recently opened up about her latest songs — and don’t expect them to be all about “happily ever after.”

“They’re sad? If I’m being honest,” Taylor admitted in a feature in The New Yorker . She went on to say the latest piece she’s written “is about moving on.”

Although we’ve heard somber songs from Taylor before (ala “Innocent” and “Haunted), the vast majority of her music to date has been filled with sunshine and roses — or fairy tales and happy endings, to be specific. It’s hard to imagine an album of depressing Swifty songs!

We’re sure Taylor is just fine — especially since she’s got amazing friends, a supportive family and an insanely impressive career — but we feel bad she’s sad. Maybe she’s lusting after a new boyfriend? After all, it’s been awhile since we last saw Taylor on a date!
