Why Was Charice Left Off Billboard's Annual Hottest '21 Under 21' List? Blasphemy!

Charice was No. 4 in 2010 — so why was she totally left off this year’s list?

It should probably come as no surprise to you all that I’m a huge Charice fan. Not just because she’s funny, or adorable, or because we both love the color orange. I’m a fan because, as Oprah Winfrey put it, she’s “the most talented girl in the world.” Billboard doesn’t seem to agree with me, however, as they’ve released their annual list of the hottest 21 musicians under 21 — and Charice is nowhere to be found.

Granted, most of the performers on their list totally deserve to be there. Selena Gomez (No. 3); Tyler, the Creator (No. 2); and Justin Bieber (No. 1) have all made irrefutable marks on the music industry.

But other choices have me — and I assume millions of bummed-out Chasters — totally confused. Like 19-year-old Korean pop star HyunA, formerly a member of the K-pop group Wonder Girls, who only appeared to make the list because she released a video deemed “too sexy” for Korean TV. (Like I’ve never done that…)

And American Idol “winner” Scotty McCreery? Don’t even get me started.

In the past year, Charice has released several successful singles — including “One Day,” co-produced by Nick Jonas (who’s No. 8 on this year’s list) — and made several appearances on Glee, one of the biggest shows in the country.

Am I alone in my confusion?

Lady Gaga is not listed because she is over 21. So I have to say its a stump.

No one on the list comes near Charice in talent, in fame, or in producing so many hits in so short of a time period. She gets tumultuous standing ovation virtually every time she performs live on stage. For whatever reason Billboard left her out, it draws attention. It appears that the same kind of power play that cut out Charice from Glee is occurring here. Charice, through no fault of her own, is a big threat to many because she is the real deal. No one else in the world, as far as it is known, can sing like her; no one else in the world can mesmerize the audience in live performances like her; and no one else in the world is in such a great demand as she is. She shot up in fame in so short of a period, using the words of David Foster, “like a laser beam”. She never goes flat and has a most beautiful voice. Every song she covers sounds better than the original. This is intimidating to those who choose to oppose her. Unlike Glee, Billboard is stumping her with an exclamation mark. But on the other hand, so is Lady Gaga not listed. So who can say if it’s really a stump? It may be a complement of the highest level.

I’m really sorry for saying this but i think you don’t get what ‘hot’ means. so, typically, i’m a huge fan of hyuna. why can’t she be on the ’21 under 21’? she deserves it, damn it. and if hollywood thinks she’s hot, then she’s hot. at least they can appreciate her hotness not like some other people out there. It’s not as if I’m saying this because I hate Charice (I don’t hate her, i just don’t like her, get the picture?) or because I like Hyuna.. it’s just that, if you really want to say it to the world that you prefer Carice to be on the list, don’t include shit stuff like someone on the list doesn’t deserve it. because you know what? they really do,.. get the picture?

yes it is typical of the whole music industry. charice has more talent in her little finger than thewhole list. yet she refuses to go sexy and as we see if you have the looks and sex appeal then real talent dose not matter. whata shame it is stupid
