Chynna Phillips says her group Wilson Phillips is recording an album called ‘Dedicated’ that pays tribute to the group members famous parents!
Wilson Phillips is back and stronger than ever! The popular group from the ’90s made up of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips is celebrating 20 years together by releasing a tribute album dedicated to their parents — Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys and John and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas. How exciting is that?!
“Right now Wilson Phillips is recording a tribute album to our parents,” Chynna told us on a conference call Sept. 29. “It’s all Mamas & Papas and Beach Boys. It’s called Dedicated.
She said the album is being produced through Sony Masterworks and will be released early next year.
Currently Chynna is competing on season 13 of Dancing with the Stars and told us she’d love for Wilson Phillips to perform on the show. However, there’s a catch.
“Apparently if I make it to episode eight, they said Wilson Phillips can perform next year,” she said. “Apparently you have to make it so far before they’ll [commit to you].”
Regardless of whether or not we see them on DWTS next season, we’re stoked to hear the tribute album. Which classic hits do YOU hope make the album? Sound off below!
