'The X Factor' Recap: Has Simon Cowell Lost His Mind? He BEGGED Paula & Nicole To Put Through The Worst Singer!

Simon Cowell made Paula Abdul look like the most sane person in the world on tonight’s ‘The X Factor.’ What was he hearing that we weren’t?

Normally I think Simon Cowell is an incredible judge of talent. He consistently has an eye for potential stars. But then tonight’s The X Factor happened and I might be taking that all back.

Simon has ranted about how Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger look past talented girls if they are hot and pose a threat to them. However, I think it’s Simon who’s getting blinded by cleavage and pretty faces.

During the auditions on the Sept. 28 episode, a 19-year-old girl named Tiah Tolliver came up to the stage, looking sassy and cute with bright red lips and an adorable outfit. All the judges perked up their ears, excited to hear her belt it out. Unfortunately, Tiah didn’t have a track and proceeded to sing an a capella song that nearly made my ears bleed.

I anxiously awaited Simon’s reaction, expecting him to rip her to shreds and stomp on her dreams. Boy, was I wrong!

Not only did he praise her, he said he’s never felt so confident in someone being a star. When both Paula and Nicole pointed out she couldn’t sing in tune, Simon begged and pleaded with them to put her through to the next round. He even convinced L.A. Reid Tiah had “it.” I’d never seen him grovel so much over someone who performed so terribly.

In the end, Nicole caved and gave Simon what he asked, but I was bummed she did. That girl didn’t deserve it.

While I’m on this rant, I have to say I don’t appreciate how Simon and L.A. treat the women like they don’t know what they are talking about. Although I’m not the biggest Nicole fan, tonight when she busted out Whitney Houston and was PERFECTLY in key, I had to hand it to her — she’s judging this show for a reason. Paula and Nicole aren’t complete dingbats.

Outside of the Tiah controversy, there were definitely some contestants who got me excited for the rest of the season. I loved Josh Krajcik, the 30-year-old burrito maker who sang “At Last,” and the boy band group from Virginia Beach called 4Shore.

What did YOU think of Tiah? Did you side with Simon — or did you agree with the ladies? Watch the video and sound off below!

Writing about stars is one thing – building up a star is another. This girl is clearly a raw diamond. She has everything it takes to set the stage on fire. Her Version of Shontelles “Impossible” was million times better than the original. I only got to know about Tiah because of that article. Those red lips looked silly and I really was attracted by the headlines in seeing if Simon Cowell really lost his mind. But – the headlines are so not on Point.
