Selena was so blown away by the candlelit dinner and movie Justin planned that Hollywoodlife.com can exclusively report Selena got choked up and smothered Justin with hugs, kisses and ‘I love you’s!

We’ve also learned that Justin Bieber, 17, planned  the epic date with Selena Gomez, 19, at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Sept. 23 , first reported by TMZ.com, for weeks before surprising her after the pair attended Demi Lovato’s concert at the Nokia Center. “Justin practiced how to lead Selena through an underground hallway multiple times so he knew exactly where to go after the concert,” reveals a source. ” Selena was very confused when Justin took her that way after the concert but she went along with it because she thought their car was parked in an out of the way place.”

Justin was nervous all night at the Demi concert because he wanted to make sure the surprise romantic meal would go down without a hitch, says the source. “Before the couple arrived the movie, Titanic, which was screened  for the couple after dinner, was played over and started multiple times to make  sure that there were no malfunctions later,” reveals the source. Justin was in touch with the Staples people all night.

Once Justin led Selena into the dimly-lit, empty arena — and Selena saw the table for two set up with a romantic candlelit meal, ” she got all choked up and smothered Justin with hugs and kisses”, says an eyewitness. ” She said ‘I Love You’ multiple times and he did the same!”! Their was constant PDA during the meal.With food catered from the Staples Center restaurant The Lexus Club, they ate steak and pasta before moving on to the movie.

When the film, Titanic,  which Justin arranged to have played after dinner,  began, ” Selena went over the edge and did not remove herself from Justin’s side once for the entire movie. They were in a constant embrace for the entire film, ” says the eyewitness. The pair was still so excited after watching Titanic that they hung out afterwards in the stadium, walking and running around the empty arena and taking pictures of each other on their cell phones. They finally had to leave because the arena had to set up for a Tony Bennett concert, later that day.

Justin apparently got the idea after watching Adam Sandler‘s Mr. Deeds, where the title character surprises his love by pulling a similar stunt at Madison Square Garden. The Staples Center was fine to indulge Justin, since it was empty that night and he has sold it out three times. They didn’t even charge him for it!
