The mission: Take down a child trafficker and rescue his captive. The outcome: One angel is lost, but the ladies earn a new recruit!
ABC’s Charlie’s Angels premiered with a bang Sept. 22 — literally! We were introduced to Charlie’s three women: cat burglar Abby (Rachael Taylor), cop Kate (Annie Ilonzeh) and ex-marine Gloria (Nadine Velazquez.) But one of these ladies didn’t last the full episode: Gloria was axed in a car explosion outside of the office!
The ladies were immediatly sent on their first mission — to rescue 16-year-old Sarah Daniels. Infamous human trafficker “Baharo” captured her and planned to sell her into the trade — but the ladies were right there to save her!
The ladies’ side-kick Bosley (Ramon Rodriguez) tracked down Sarah’s location, and Abby and Kate headed out to complete the mission. They took down Baharao’s men in a second and rescued Sarah almost effortlessly. “We’re not [cops], we’re angels,” Abby explained to to the confused girl.
But this mission proved to be the least of the Angels’ troubles — because it turned out that Gloria died in a car explosion! Charlie showed the girls footage of the accident and they saw a mystery woman ride off on a motorcycle seconds before it all goes down. Bosley quickly identified the woman as car-thief Eve French (Minka Kelly).
Abby and Kate boarded the houseboat, where they were greeted by Eve — and moments later, bullets started tearing through the boat, shredding it to pieces. The women dived into the ocean and escaped.
After a grueling interrogation, Abby and Kate learned that Eve knew Gloria as a kid and that she knew Gloria was secretly working to track down Baharo because of what happened when they were younger living in an orphanage. Gloria and Eve escaped the raid that happened many years ago, leaving their former friends massacred.
All three women joined together to track down Baharo and get revenge for Gloria’s murder. They disguised themselves as waitresses and crashed a party that millionaire Nestor Rodrigo (aka Baharo) was hosting. With Bosley’s help, the women captured Baharo’s sexy blonde friend Nadia — but at the same time, Baharo’s men took Eve!
Kate and Abby integrated Nadia to find out where Baharo could have taken Eve, which led them to the Flamingo boat yard.
Kate and Bosley worked to free women Baharo had captured, while Abby took down Baharo. Eve was freed and she next took down Baharo’s men. Baharo somehow escaped, but Eve and her miraculous driving skills hit him on the run in one of his flashy cars.
The cops took Baharo, but that doesn’t mean not said and done. Bosley lastly extended an offer to Eve to join the Angels to replace Gloria. Eve accepted.
Charlie congratulated the girls and they celebrated with a toast.
