Bristol Palin's Homophobic Behavior Perpetuates An Illness Called Ignorance, Says Special Needs Educator!

Fri, September 23, 2011 10:00pm EDT by 42 Comments

Bristol Palin’s intolerance of homosexuals continues to cause outrage especially for one family who lost their 13-year-old son to suicide because anti-gay bullying in school!

Bristol Palin has no right to judge! She perpetuates an illness called ignorance when she chooses to judge people because of their sexuality,” Robin Rettie, who runs the Lighthouse Learning and Resource Center in Houston, tells HollywoodLife.com in an exclusive interview.

Robin is good friends with Amy and David Truong, who lost their son 13-year-old son Asher Brown one year ago Sept. 23 because of anti-gay bullying in school.

“Today is the one-year anniversary of 13-year-old Asher Brown’s death by suicide. Asher was bullied at school because he was different, because of his sexual orientation,” Robin says.

“When Bristol Palin, who is a public figure, judges people because they are gay she is setting a terrible and damaging example. And what’s so surprising and hypocritical is that her younger brother Trigg is a special needs toddler. He may unfortunately one day be bullied just like Asher was because he is different. Bristol should be taking advantage of her position in life by trying to teach people the importance of acceptance and unconditional love. Instead she is doing the complete opposite. Tonight a mother and father are at a memorial here in Houston where they are grieving over the loss of their son Asher who took his own life because of people who were ignorant and judgmental. Bristol Palin should be ashamed of herself and her behavior. I certainly hope someone talks to her about the severity of this matter. I don’t even know if she thinks for herself or she is just following the belief system of her parents. It’s very sad and disturbing!”

She adds, “Bristol needs to understand the dire consequences of her actions. I hope she will watch the memorial video Asher’s parents made for their son and that Bristol will think twice before she chooses to judge someone because they are different!”

Do YOU think Bristol knew just how homophobic her fight at Saddle Ranch sounded?

So now you can’t ask someone if they are a homosexual? If you do you are a bigot? Its sad there are so many hateful people in this world who think they can push their agenda on others. Did the author actually watch the vidoe? And this is coming from someone who voted for Obama.

I’m curious as to why she was in a bar. She isn’t 21. I understand her being upset with what ever name calling of her mother, butI think she was wrong for asking the man if he was a homosexual. That is just as immature as asking him if hes a faggot. Maybe Bristol needs to grow some before entering a bar. And I’m not excusing the man either, he was definately wrong.

This was not a bar- it was a restaurant that has been the site for many tv shows and movies. Do not blame the victim of this sad man’s verbal attack.

I am sick of this lame, no-talented, mini-barracuda. The guy may have been out of line, but her behavior was just as uncivilized. The Palin girls reach for the homo card every time some male says anything about mommy. Remember how Willow trashed a schoolmate and called him gay, because he did not like mom’s TV show. Makes a person wonder where they get their deep-seeded homophobia. Try from their witch of a mother. Does anyone else remember Todd having his best buddy along with him on the campaign trail in 2008? Does seem a bit odd for a so-called macho dude?!? Maybe Todd is in the closet, and Sarah has berated him about it in front of the kids. Like the guy in the bar, I think that the entire Palin family is white trash with no class at all. They are the epitome of a festival of the inbred. No, that is not a slam at Trig. These people are morons. Trig’s IQ is probably higher. Sarah is a media wh*re, and her daughters are following in her footsteps.

And is this your answer to President Obama’s wonderful speech last winter asking for tolerance and civility despite our differences?

There was absolutely nothing homophobic about Bristol Palin’s comments. All she said, was “Is it because you’re a homosexual? Is that why you hate her?” And let’s face it, people, she was right. The guy had nothing reputable to back up his claims – he was just a gay guy that doesn’t like ultra-social conservative Sarah Palin. And that’s fine, but it does not excuse his behavior.

This is why people have problems with liberals – they will spin this story into some kind of anti-gay ridiculousness.

Good ol’ Sandra Clark – putting the “low” in yellow journalism. If over-the-top bozos in the “press” like you keep bashing the Palins for trumped up nonsense like this, you might actually make them popular.

While the guy was a jerk for starting it, Bristol Palin is just as much, if not more of a jerk for insulting gay people. And this isn’t the first time one of the Palins has done this. Willow Palin did something similar when someone insulted Bristol Palin on Dancing With the Stars. You can defend your family without homophobia. By resorting to that, they show what kind of “values” they’ve been raised with.

Fame is a double edged sword. There’s no way Bristol Palin would have the opportunities she’s had, such as the book opportunity and her stint with Dancing with the Stars were it not for her mother’s fame. The down side is people are going to be critical of her mother, sometimes directly in front of her. And sometimes, obnoxiously and insultingly so, like this guy. If she’d ignored him or hadn’t resorted to homophobic comments, she would have come out of this with some dignity intact. Instead, she stooped to his level and made this more of a story than it otherwise would have been.

Why is it considered an ‘insult’ or a “homophobic comment” to calmly ask if you are a homosexual and if that is the reason why you hate my mom?You do not seem to have any problem with wh*re or b**ch or white trash but I guess vulgar sexist remarks are no big deal.

This is the Liberal Left in it’s finest moment- it’s who they are at their ignorant core. It’s out of control and I don’t fault her for defending her Mother for one second. As a gay man I can say he offends me and leaves me shaking my head. She did nothing wrong. What amuses me the most is this pathetic LOOSER is shown for what he is. Sadly, his puke gives the rest of us a bad name.

Let’s see….. He is a 47 year old man acting like an adolescent child. She is a 21 year old woman stepping up for her mom in reaction to him calling her a ‘whore’. How can any person wit two marbles in their brain justify this bleeping idiots behavior and blame Bristol Palin. He is somehow in the clear for callong her a ‘whore’ and screaming in her face; However, she asks him if it’s because he’s homosexual and she is an intolerant homophobe? Seriously, this is why I and many americans laugh and disregard so called ‘politcal correctness’. It has become nothing short of a pathetic joke and crutch for people at this point. The gay community should do itself a favor and say this ‘gentleman’ was in the wrong. As for Sandra Clark….. Pathetic ‘journalism’.

I am discouraged by the article. In no way did I state 90% of what is written. My store is a place of refuge for families whose children have unique needs. Sandra and I discussed tolerance. She brought up Bristol Palin. I have never heard about the confrontation between Bristol and another person regarding homosexuality. I believe in tolerance and respect. Taking my conversation and adding words to it to fit your own agenda, Sandra, goes against my belief in respect. My sincere apologies to Bristol. Shame on you Sandra for knowingly pulling me and my business into your agenda. Your posting of my comments is untrue. Take your article off.

LOL @ Hollywood Life for their FAIL spin of this event. There is video, you idiots.

America is sick of the intolerant left and their tirades of hate. We watched them burn Bush in effigy, behead him in effigy, hang him in effigy but you disagree with 0bama shoving his ridiculous DeathCare down America’s throat and you are a racist.

The left needs to stop believing in and promoting their silly characitures of the right. They are the intolerant ones who are stereotyping a group of people before they know anything about them. They do not let reality alter their prejudiced opinions. They accuse others of the very thing that they suffer from most.

How is anything Bristol did considered ‘homophobic’? This was an angry old drunk shouting ridiculous things about her mother. Bristol handled herself with style. She accurately assessed the source of this man’s hatred of her mother and tried to discuss it civilly with him. She asked for one single example of anything the angry old drunk was accusing and like the typical idiot trained by the media to hate the Palins (and to a lesser extent, all Republicans) he was unable to provide a single example.

This gay man is the hater. He is a ‘Palinphobe’. A ‘Republicanphobe’. He hates teabaggERS but probably loves being the teabaggEE. Just another angry drunk homosexual hypocrite in action.

Actually the guy was drunk, angry, offensive and completely out of order shouting at Bristol. HOWEVER, her reply to him: “do you think that because your a homosexual?” was completely presumptuous, ignorant and indeed typical of those trailer trash types who have sadly became too prominent in this country.

Leave her alone! How lucky we all are that we aren’t followed by cameras all the time to catch whatever we say and do so some person who writes trash articles online can rip us apart and twist everything. I am so done with this trash website and their attempt at journalism that is nothing more then slander and cheap tricks to get views. The guy is gay? So what? He started a fight knowing there were cameras there, he knew what would happen and knew it would make her look bad. Which is what he wanted.

Get the story right Sandra – The 47 year old coward was screaming at the 21 year old girl before she said a word to him – The 47 year old coward was screaming “Whore” at Palin before she spoke a word to him – typical pathetic left wing liberal coward – real tough guy – 47 years old and picking on a 21 year old girl

What was homophobic about it? She asked the guy why he hated her mom. Is it because you’re homosexual? He said, Yeah, pretty much. So apparently, homosexual people hate and call women whores and anti christs and say people are going to hell, right?

This whole thing is so ridiculous. As if Bristol started this whole thing. If someone called my mom a whore, they’d get a knuckle-sandwich. Period.

My first comment was deleted. This is irresponsible reporting. The men were heckling her and shouting expletives about her mother. She calmly engaged them asking why they hated her mother. She never said anything disparaging about gay people and certainly never “ranted”. Sandra Clark- you should be ashamed of yourself for publishing garbage like this. You are a liar. :)

Are you kidding me? The guy attacked her in very misogynistic way and this is the story you write? This is sad. I’m no Palin fan, but this is really absurd. How about asking someone from NOW about the man’s use of the word “whore” or “bitch”? Never mind the more carnal stuff. All Palin asked was if he hated his mom because he’s a homosexual? It’s a fair question given the LGBT community’s political views vis a vis Sarah Palin’s political views and, of course, the ugly language this guy was using. (Someone please phone the civility police!)

This is pathetic Sandra Clark. This story says more about your limitations as a journalist than it does about Palin’s views. I’m sorry that I gave you guys a page view and comment.

What kind of irresponsible reporting is this? Have you watched the video? The men were cursing at her and calling her mother a whore! She asked if he hated her mom because he was a homosexual. She didn’t say anything derogatory about homosexuals, she just assumed he hated her mom because many gay people are anti-Palin, and he displayed mannerisms and behavior that seemed to fall in line with a gay stereotype. Bristol did nothing wrong. Both of those men were rude, ignorant cowards.

This report is a complete distortion of what Bristol said in the video. After the person shouted vile, ugly anti female insults at her she calmly asked him why he said those comments. She then asked if he was homosexual and is that why he hates her mother. The man was out of control and in fact was bullying Bristol. Tolerance begins within rather than pointing at others.
