A casting insider tells HollywoodLife.com R-Patz didn’t get the leading role in Steven Soderbergh’s film remake of ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ Are YOU bummed?
We thought Robert Pattinson could have been an amazing fit in the leading role of Napoleon Solo in the film remake of the ’60s spy drama The Man From U.N.C.L.E., but apparently the director, Steven Soderbergh didn’t feel the same!
“It’s not going to happen for Rob,” a source at Warner Brothers told HollywoodLife.com exclusively about the rumor which began late last month. “Steven is interested in working with someone he has worked with before, or someone who is not famous yet, an unknown.”
The insider added, “He just doesn’t want the film to be over shadowed.”
Currently, the film is set for a February 2012 start, but the casting hasn’t come together yet. Originally, George Clooney was committed to starring in the remake, but dropped out in late August.
Are YOU bummed Rob didn’t get this part, or do you think there’s something better out there for him? In what kind of role do you see Rob next? Sound off below!

too bad pattinson didn’t get man from uncle…..he’d make money at the box office and he’s a good enough actor to make that role work…
