Much to the relief of ‘Twilight’ fans ‘Breaking Dawn: Part 1′ has been rated PG-13. The honeymoon and birth scenes didn’t push it over the top to rated R!

Breaking Dawn: Part 1 has officially been given a PG-13 rating by the Motion Picture Association of America. The first three movies from The Twilight Saga were also given this rating, but Twi-hards were worried this next installment would risk getting rated R with the sex scene and graphic birth scene.According to ComingSoon.net, this rating is based on “disturbing images, violence, sexuality/partial nudity and some thematic elements”.

Partial nudity and Robert Pattinson? Um, yes please!

The film will be released November 18. We’re counting down the days!

They are being more leinant with the movie ratings lately. Back when I was a kid (1980s-1990s), this movie would have been guaranteed a R rating. I still say that the Max Payne should have gotten a R rating, it was just as graphic as the video games for the XBox, PS2, and the PC, all of which had gotten a M ages 17 and up rating from the ESRB, the ESRB’s equivalent to a R rating from the MPAA. The Max Payne movie originally had a R rating, but director John Moore went to the ratings board and cried the blues. So to shut him up, they changed the rating to PG-13. I have a hard time trusting movie rating accuracy anymore.
