The 10-year-old snubbed a gift from The New York Yankees superstar, a treasured baseball bat, because it was broken!
Daddy Brad Pitt laughs as he recounts his son Maddox‘s encounter with baseball great Derek Jeter, back in 2007 — and how the adopted tot refused to be starstruck when he came face to face with a genuine sports icon!
“I took my son, to a game, a Yankees game, with Spike Lee and his sons,” Brad tells USA Today. “He’s right next to the dugout, (Spike’s) got the great seats and he’s really involved with the Yankees. He talks to the players as they are in the batting circle, and it is customary for the heroes to bring out some of the cracked bats and give them to the kids.”
Kids usually go crazy for the souvenirs and the chance to meet a baseball hero…. but not Maddox.
Spike called Yankees captain Derek Jeter over to the group, so he could introduce him to Brad and Maddox… and that’s when it all went wrong.!
Brad — promoting new baseball movie Moneyball — explains, “(Derek) couldn’t have been more chill. He grabbed a cracked bat and handed it to my son.” But Maddox wasn’t the slightest bit impressed: “He goes, ‘It’s broken!’”
How hilarious is Maddox?
Then again… I’d be tough to impress if my parents were Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt!

Talk about desperate. Brad is recounting a silly story that happened back in 2007? I guess he really wants everyone to forget about his recent interview (where he called his marriage to Jen boring).
Brad is fake. Angie is fake.
I actually feel sorry for them. They both must be so scared that the other one will cheat. (Once a cheater…)
And the only reason they don’t want to get married is because Angie knows how pathetic it would be when she goes through divorce number three.
Let’s hope their kids learn better values from their nannies.
