The actress reveals her winning role as a struggling single mother in HBO series ‘Mildred Pierce’ was inspired by her own multi-tasking mom!
Kate Winslet stole the show for moms everywhere at last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards — winning the Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie award for her role in Mildred Pierce and then paying a gushing tribute to her proud mom Sally!
“Mildred Pierce was capable of great acts of love as a mother but she was an extraordinary multi-tasker,” Kate told the audience. Adding, “I actually do have to share this with my mom. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you do in your life. You never stop needing your mom. And I will never stop needing mine. So thanks mom!”
We couldn’t agree more!
Just like her character, Kate is a hard working and dedicated single mom to two kids. She has a daughter, Mia, 10 and son, Joe, 7, from previous relationships.
But that’s where the comparison ends! Unlike struggling Mildred, Kate’s a multi-millionairess — all because her mom (and dad) helped her pursue her dream of being an actress!
