The cast and crew were superstitious that January’s Emmys absence would hinder their chances of winning, but baby Xander was rooting for his mommy’s show and it worked!
Mad Men scooped the Outstanding Drama Series prize for the fourth straight year — and the cast and creators have star January Jones and her baby son to thank!
“Her baby had his fingers crossed,” show founder Matthew Weiner told reporters in the press room. “She told me that. We just heard from her.”
January, 33, didn’t join her castmates at the LA ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 18 — she only gave birth to her son Xander five days earlier, on Sept. 13.
And Weiner admits he was terrified she’d jinx the show’s chances by staying away. He adds, “We had a horrible superstition that her not being here was bad for us. We miss her tonight.”
He needn’t have worried — not even the new mommy‘s absence could stop Mad Men from steamrollering all the other nominees. Can you believe the show has won that award FOUR YEARS RUNNING?
Are you a fan, HollyMoms? And are you looking forward to see January’s post-baby body when she returns to the show?

Before her pregnancy, January Jones said life seems pointless without children and she was looking for a husband.
“I would love to find an interesting man to date but people don’t seem to date so much any more. It’s more of a hanging out process. It’s hard to find romance, the kind of love story that carries you away. I would love to have that. I’m pretty idealistic when it comes to love.”
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner said after her pregnancy was announced that she wanted to get pregnant “very badly.”
She must have gotten fed up with still being single as well as that men and women hang out together more so than date. She decided to just skip finding a husband and got pregnant because her biological clock was already ticking and it was just becoming a physical need for her.
It seems like she hooked up with someone and sabotaged the condom or went in balls to the wall when it was her extra fertile time so she could get pregnant. The mysterious father of her unborn child must have immensely enjoyed the conception if she was so determined to get pregnant.
