HL are you completely lost your mind and reading comprehension with it? Cronenberg praised his star and you call it dissing? How low would you go for hits? What’s next? Scraping public toilets? I think your journos are ready and well qualified for that job.

I thought the same thing when I saw all the woman trying to get autographs and pics. They were literally there for days and hours at a time. I spoke out when I saw pics of them on the internet. I thought, why are they interfering in his work. Go to a Premiere, find other ways to get near him,but leave him alone at work. I new the Directer was not happy about it.

You are truly scummy, HL. Cronenberg said Rob’s FAME was a detriment, because he isn’t as taken as seriously as an actor since he’s played a vampire in a teen franchise.

He went after Rob for this starring part in Cosmopolis and had a great time on the set this summer. You have zero credibility and the word journalism can’t even be applied to the lies you publish.

HL you suck. Your headline could have read the positive:

DAVID CRONENBERG THINKS ROB PATTINSON IS A TERRIFIC ACTOR!

But instead, typically, you opt to go for the negative. David Cronenberg went strictly for the talent – who could fill the lead role in his film best? Do you really think someone like Cronenberg would have bothered with Rob if that were not the case? Of course not.

I thought he was amazing in Water for Elephants, and Remember Me; I love both those films! And, just for the record, I am neither a 13 year old girl, or a Twihard fanatic. I am lukewarm on the books and have had enough of the movies. But the role was a good launching pad for Rob’s career, and I do think he is one of the most talented actors out there.

As for the reviews – so what? A lot of them were good, some really good, some bad. That just proves the inconsistency of the reviews; they vary as much as the reviewers themselves – people who couldn’t make it as actors.

JUST PATHETIC

Posted at 3:47 PM on September 16, 2011

Just pathetic – only HL can turn a major compliment from a well respected director into a diss. The compliments that Cronenberg gave Rob are of the highest level in this interview and the other ones he has given. “Rob is a terrific actor” “I(Cronenberg) went after him for the part”, “Rob is one of the most intense actors of his generation”, etc. Why not print that instead of this crap. Rob will finally get the respect he deserves with comments like this from directors like Cronenberg. Rob started to get respect with Remember Me(the disses were for 911 content mostly) and even more with Water for Elephants which grossed over 117 million, and with Cosmopolis the critics will come around even more. Unfortunately some dont give him a chance cause of Twilight. its a shame thats what they still base their opinions on, but they are gradually coming around and rightfully so. Rob is an excellent actor – one that doesnt seek big money role parts but chooses ones that will make him a better actor and for the chance to work with actors like Cronenberg. The fact that Cronenberg states that he SOUGHT OUT Rob and WENT AFTER HIM speaks volumes about how good an actor Rob is.

This is ridiculous . In reply to this William Earl so called blogger and to this Kristin comment …. Cronenberg didn’t diss Pattinson , he didn’t give this guy an interview , why? Because this blog is a joke he actually wanted Pattinson for the role and the detriment is about these silly fans who has no respect for anyone when they are filming , they huddle and scream when the man is working which annoying . For this person to critisize his work is even more ridiculous they only seen one movie twilight which is no stretch for any actor it’s one dimensional part he did the best he could with that silly part . I have seen other smaller film he made they are much better .and talking about critics ..ha!ha! These guys are so jaded it’s not even funny they gave Leo de Caprio a bad review for Shutter island and even Inception Ben Affleck in the Town I could go on …. I never listen to any reviews by any critics ever and in the end I enjoyed most of the movies have seen in the past no thanks to critics …. I believe Pattinson is good with time and better projects he can only get better . also it’s like a trend with these people the better looking the actor the more they are hated by critics and some other people that are not fans .. Very one has their own opinion about things and I kinda respect it to a certain degree but when it’s pure malice and hatred and there is no foundation for that hate that really burn my a$$ ….I suppose if he never made twilight it would have been a different story , and some other poor sap would get to be the joke … Directors want to work with him so at the end of the day most of these mean and vile comments have no bearing whatsoever on his career , and thank god they don’t bother with these ridiculous , stupid , blogsites ….

There was no screaming or huddling on the set of Cosmopolis. In fact, if anything, we were all very subdued and respectful to the crew and the actors.

I was afraid we might end up with another NYC “Remember Me” situation but we’re Torontonians….we don’t roll like that.

This is always my counter-argument to the statement “Robert Pattinson is a good actor”-

If RPattz is such a good actor, then why doesn’t his acting get good reviews? Like 2/10 reviews on his films/acting are positive. Just because a bunch of 13 year old girls think he’s a good actor doesn’t mean he is. He’s not a good actor in any sense. He’s a stiff as a board, he doesn’t show any charisma or emotion, he always looks nauseus. It’s like he’s not even trying, but then again, when you know you’re probably going to get bad reviews anyway, why try?

I respect people’s opinions, and Lord knows I have plenty of my own… I know his acting might appeal to some of people, but to actually come out and say that Robert Pattinson is the most professional actor out there and he should win an Oscar for Twilight or Water For Elephants is really pushing it.

I’d respect him a lot more if he was a good actor or at least had the reviews to prove it.

Ok, now here is my counter argument in regard to your statements. First of all, film reviewers give their own personal opinions on films, that doesn’t mean that they’re right, or that everyone else should base their opinions on what they’ve said. Second, Rob’s fan base is predominently middle aged women, not 13 yr old girls, so I think their opinions have a little more credibility. Third, when did anyone say that he is the most professional actor out there? Did I miss something? Lastly, if you’ve actually seen Water For Elephants and still think that he doesn’t show any emotion, maybe the problem isn’t his acting, but your lack of empathy.

It is sites like this and E! which contribute to his fame being a “detriment” as both stir the fans up like crazy. I think Cronenberg probably was sick of all the false rumors surrounding his daughter and the fact that people were staking out the set at like 3am.

Shouldn’t you change that headline? I mean before the lawsuit from Cronenberg’s office hits you? It should be enough ammunition for a libel case I think.

wow that headline is completely misleading. cronenburg didn’t ‘diss’ rob at all. he was talking about the complications that rob’s fame caused on the set. he said rob is an amazing actor and praised him for his work. guess you’re really stretching to get people to read your stories with bogus headlines.
