The new ‘Breaking Dawn’ trailer has brought my heartbreak for Jacob’s, well, heartbreak, back all over again!
Look, I would never speak poorly of Robert Pattinson, especially considering how much I flipped out when I saw him at the Golden Globes earlier this year. But when it comes to Edward Cullen, that is a different story. I am proudly Team Jacob all the way and I like to pretend The Twilight Saga ended with Jacob and Bella’s kiss in Eclipse. Although I am thoroughly excited for the two Breaking Dawn installments, the latest trailer reminded me that movie-Jacob is about to experience total heartbreak just like book-Jacob did. I can’t hide in a world of denial anymore, he really is about to lose Bella. Also, he looks awful at her wedding!
As true Twi-hards know, Jacob (Taylor Lautner) looks scruffy at Bella’s wedding because he’d been in wolf form gallivanting around North America trying not to “think human” after all of the pain he was in at the thought of her marrying Edward and subsequently turning into a vampire. And I guess if he’s a wolf he’s not really getting a deep tan.
I’m used to seeing Jacob look so healthy and vivacious and in the trailer when he’s dancing with Bella he just looks so torn. Even his voice is heartbreaking as he tells her he should be used to saying goodbye by now. Poor Jacob!
Although he ends up imprinting on Renesmee (something I still don’t quite support), and everything ends up “happily ever after” for the love triangle, it still hurts me to see Jacob so upset and to know how much he loves Bella. He’s so adorably protective of her (yes, I know Team Edward fans, so is a certain vampire you love… although he’s a little too protective in my opinion).
So despite we know we lost in the Bella-Jacob-Edward triangle… can I please get a “hell yeah” from the Team Jacob fans out there? Did you guys get as upset as I did when you saw the Breaking Dawn trailer and realized what we are about to witness on screen? Sound off below!

I do feel very sorry for Jacob. He risked his life time and time again for Bella, kept her sane when Edward left her, and did everything humanly possible to get her to choose life over death. Most importantly, he loved her very much. Jacob did not deserve the ridiculous ending that he got in Breaking Dawn. He would never imprint on Bella’s baby (which I still do not believe could have been conceived) because it was 1/2 vampire.

Why should we feel sorry for a kid who acts out through 3 books (he was bearable in Twilight) and gets away with it because Bella won’t smack him. She doesn’t have any problem trashing Edwards feelings whenever she wants. By the time Eclipse was over I really wanted Edward to tell her to take a flying leap! I know not in the story. Stephanie Meyer said she wanted Bella to have choices and to have to live with them but she copped out when it came to Jacob. What I saw was someone who the writer’s and author manages to allow him to ruin Bella and Edwards wedding day.
