From the silhouettes to the draping, I’m a huge fan of J. Mendel — and I’m not alone! With everyone from Taylor Swift to Kristen Stewart showing off the collection on the red carpet, we had to ask designer Gilles Mendel what he thinks of one of our favorite Twilight gals.
“She’s cool, she’s young, she’s a great actress and she really creates a mood in the clothes that’s indescribable,” he said backstage before his runway show. “Having her wear the clothes makes me excited — ‘I die’ basically!”

“Indescribable” is what someone says when they’re afraid to speak the truth. The mood she creates is that of a sulky teen who can’t wear high heels for more than 20 minutes and has to put on her old sneakers and revert to her 14 year old tomboy inner self.
She tries to glam it up because that’s what her publicist tells her she has to do to salvage her career but you can tell she hates it because she always changes back into jeans before the party even starts. So lame!
