Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez have called it quits — we thought they were together for the long haul! But it turns out Alex had checked out of their relationship weeks ago.
Alex, 36, had apparently been over Cameron, 39, for a while now, the New York Post reports.
“For weeks he’s been trying to get out of the relationship,” a source says. “But she has been in denial about it.”
The couple had first started dating in 2009, and even though their relationship went through many different levels of commitment, this is said to be the final split.
“They have broken up before and got back together, and who knows if it may happen again,” another source says. “But I get the sense that it won’t. He was losing interest and is ready to move on. They remain friends and it is amicable. They are career-minded professionals, and they continue to focus on their own priorities. He has had a number of injuries and he wants to stay focused on winning a world championship.”
