New York Fashion Week Officials [CFDA] Furious Underage Kylie Jenner, 14, Walked In The Abbey Dawn Show!

While the reality star strutted her stuff on the runway, the organization was outraged by the blatant disregard for their suggestion that models under 16 appear on the fashion week runway.

If you thought the fact that 14-year-old Kylie Jenner made it down the runway at the Abbey Dawn show meant that everyone in the industry was cool with her walking, guess again. According to a Fashion Week insider, the CFDA was far from pleased by the news. “The CFDA is extremely upset that Kylie walked in the Abbey Dawn show,” a source said.

“They specifically sent letters to every designer, hand signed by Diane [Von Furstenberg], urging them and stressing the importance of carding models and this just blatantly went against that.” Although the source couldn’t confirm if a letter specifically went out to anyone working on Avril Lavigne‘s Abbey Dawn collection, both Diane (President of the organization), and the CFDA were very vocal about this request — practically everyone in the industry knew about it.

While we understand Kylie is under the age limit and it was so disrespectful to go against the council, Avril’s Abbey Dawn show was more fun — it wasn’t as serious as an actual runway. It isn’t like the teen was being exploited — in fact, her family cheered her on the whole time. I also think her reality star status should be taken into account, which brings me to my next question. Should exceptions be made for certain stars?

What do you think?

No exceptions should not be made for “celebrities”, but we all know they are.

Just cause she’s on the Kardashians got her on the runway. She is too heavy and not model material. Should give the opportunity to girls who really deserve the runway like Kendra Raquel Carbajal.

Kris Jenner and her Klan are above any and all rules !! We have to remember Kylie is a child … The responsibility falls on the adults to know better .. Rules are made for a reason..

“Celebrity” status shouldn’t warrant an exception. The restrictions are in place for whatever reasons the CFDA felt were valid, and making an exception just because Kylie’s entire family prefers to capitalize on EVERY life event for their show, or whatever else, isn’t the CFDA’s concern. Many celebrities, or quasi-celebrities in the case of the Kardashians, already have entitlement complexes as it is. Making exceptions at every turn just feeds into that more.

I think that regardless whether it was done sa s fun fashion show or not, exceptions should not be made for anyone.

I guess that Kris J will not stop until she has fully exploited everyone in her family.

Although I completely disagree with exceptions being made for reality stars or any celebrity for that matter and I do agree it was disrespectful to disregard the council I think it isn’t too much of a big deal because Kylie is already in the publics eye. It’s not like shes getting thrust into the spot light at 14 years old all of a sudden.
