Chris is more than a host. He tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he develops very close friendships with the former stars!
Bachelorette host Chris Harrison develops very close bonds with many of the former stars and contestants of The Bachelorette and The Bachelor. He’s so close with Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum that when the couple gets married, Chris tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he plans to attend the wedding!
“I talk to Ashley and J.P. all the time. We text each other,” Chris tells us at The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation’s12th Primetime Emmy Celebrity Tee-Off in Glendale, Calif. on Sept. 12. “When they get married I will be going to the wedding.”
Chris is especially close with some of the early on series stars. “I’ve become good friends with a lot of the contestants,” he confesses. “I just visited Andrew Firestone and his family. I met his new baby. And next week my family is getting together with Trista and Ryan [Sutter]. I would say Andrew is my closest friend from everyone I have met over the past ten years. But I do become really close to everyone.”
Maybe Chris will become best buds with Ben Flajnik, who begins filming his season of The Bachelor quite soon. ”Taping for the next season of The Bachelor hasn’t started yet — it will start in the next few weeks,” Chris reveals.
“Ben is going to be a great Bachelor,” he adds. “He’s a great guy. I think emotionally he is now ready to do this. As far as the women go, Ben is a great catch. He’s a winemaker and looks like the tennis pro Rafael Nadal. What more could a woman want?”
And maybe, just maybe, if Ben does meet Mrs. Right, Chris will be able to marry them sometime down the line. ”I was thinking of becoming a minister and then I could marry people,” Chris shares. “Honestly, I have thought about how cool that would be to officiate a wedding. I could become an ordained minister online!”
