Charice admits she was ‘shaking and crying’ after her emotional performances.

It’s always an honor to sing the National Anthem on TV, but to do so on a day like Sept. 11 is all the more meaningful. So it’s no surprise that Charice was asked to belt out “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America” during the NFL’s 9/11 tribute game on Sept. 11 — and it’s also no surprise that her power-house performance was absolutely incredible.

“Shaking… Crying.. One more performance..” Charice tweeted after performing the National Anthem. Following “God Bless America,” she tweeted, “I’m done! ;'( tears of joy.”

Watch Charice sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America” below, then rate her performance on a scale of flawless to perfect:

@000, don’t you worry, one day, Charice will make America her home. By then, she will have been a naturalized American citizen. America embraced Charice by never denying her of her God given talents than those people in her own native country who shun her because of her physical limitations!

May God bless Charice always and God bless America!

Charice isn’t an American citizen and wasn’t born in America, so why is she singing the Star Spangled Banner?

At least she sang the Philippine national anthem at the Pacquiao-Margarito boxing competition.

US Citizenship is not required to be able to sing the SSB. She sang at an American event. America’s freedom gives her this right. It is stupid to even put that comment.

I was not aware that you had to be a citizen before you could sing the Mational Athem. Remember how many “American singers” have sung the song and really screwed it up! Rosann Barr for one. I would rather have someone who CAN SING than some little “pop star” who is average at best sing it and forget the words, be out of tune or act like it was a big joke

Yes but I’d like America to take pride in itself and it’s citizens showcasing OUR talent. If we as Americans are really that awful, musically speaking, compared to other countries, maybe we should evaluate the differences in cultural music and music education. Nothing against Charice, her voice is gorgeous, but I do feel that at major AMERICAN events, we should showcase our citizens.
