Sun, September 11, 2011 1:18pm EDT by 2 Comments

President Obama joined the families who lost loved ones in 9/11 ten years ago at the touching WTC memorial today. See what other celebrities had to say in memory of the tragic day.

Everyone remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. Ten years later, a nation mourns the terrorist attacks which tore down the Twin Towers, damaged the Pentagon, and caused United 93 to crash in rural Pennsylvania. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, along with former President George Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, attended the NYC ceremony this morning at the WTC memorial site, where two reflecting pools and the One World Trade Center building have been built to honor those who lost their lives.Friends and loved ones of those who were killed gathered together at the World Financial District and they, along with Obama, touched the names of the victims engraved around the reflecting pools which have been placed where the Twin Towers once stood.

President Obama read from Psalm 46: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”

The rest of the nation remembers as well. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Lauren Conrad and Ellen DeGeneres expressed their thoughts on Twitter.

“Ten years ago today, the world changed. I hope everyone finds time to remember those we lost… and to tell someone that you love them,” Ellen poignantly wrote.

Other celebs expressed their thoughts and condolences:

Kim Kardashian: My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families affected by the awful tragedy of 9/11.

Lauren Conrad: “Remembering 9/11”, she then linked to a post on her blog.

Victoria Beckham: “Please follow @action_america. never forget xvb”.

Liam Gallagher: “NYC, Live Forever….LG”.

Nicki Minaj: “Sending my love to the victims of 9/11. Remembering the heroism. The brave men & women. The troops. We become alive in the time of fear.”
