It seems like ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ will be coming back with a season 5 and that production is about to begin quite soon!

Season five of The Real Housewives of New York City is already in the works. Though the women have yet to receive their official offer letters, it won’t be long until the cast — Cindy Barshop, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Kelly Bensimon, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Jill Zarin and Alex McCord — finds out who will be asked back! Cindy tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she expects that they will all find out in about “another week!”

“Obviously nobody’s got it going down right now, but soon — probably another week everybody will know,” Cindy explained to us at the John Varvatos Fashion Week Event on Sept. 8 in NYC.

Interesting enough, we spotted Cindy mingling with her co-star Kelly and RHONY Executive Producer Omid Kahangi at the same event. Coincidence?

According to a Bravo insider, Shed Media US — the production company that films and produces the New York series for Bravo — has to send a letter notifying the cast members that their options have been picked up. The women then have the choice to accept the offer.

“After the girls accept, that’s when Bravo would announce season five,” the insider says. “The girls will be notified right before filming begins.”
