The youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan is set to walk during New York Fashion Week, but the CFDA just set new guidelines requiring models to be at least 16 years old to walk in a show — and they’re checking IDs!
It seems natural for Kylie Jenner to walk in the Abbey Dawn show — it is Avril Lavigne‘s fashion line and Avril’s dating Kylie’s half-brother, Brody Jenner. However, while she is completely gorgeous, she’s also completely under age. Luckily, this new guideline seems to be only a suggestion and not thoroughly enforced.
Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, tells Fashionista: “The CFDA Health Initiative guidelines are suggested recommendations put forth for the industry. The latest version has been distributed widely. We are not in a position to police or enforce these recommendations. We can only hope that they are followed and taken seriously and are happy that so many in our industry are acting responsible.”
While there’s no strict rule eliminating models under 16, it is highly suggested that models present a valid ID to be allowed to walk.
Do you think Kylie will strut her stuff on the runway or be carded at the door?
