Feuding fashionista alert! Jessica Simpson and Nicole Richie are at odds with each other on the set of Fashion Star, the upcoming NBC reality series on which they both serve as mentors to aspiring designers.
“There’s definite friction between Nicole and Jessica on Fashion Star, and they’re both very curt,” a source tells Us Weekly.
Another source says the pair’s disdain for each other stems from their differing sense of styles. Each has their own clothing collections, but Nicole’s House of Harlow focuses on more cutting-edge chic designs while the Jessica Simpson Collection is more mainstream.
“They chat only when they need to, and they have wildly different opinions about style,” a second source tells Us. “[Nicole] thinks Jessica doesn’t have much of a high-fashion eye. And she makes snarky comments about Jessica’s outfits.”
But Jessica isn’t too concerned about being judged by Nicole: After all, Jessica’s collections raked in $750 million in sales in 2010, while Nicole earned $10 million for hers. “Jessica doesn’t really care what Nicole thinks,” says the second source. “Nicole may know trends, but Jessica believes she knows how to make clothes for all kinds of women.”
