Robert Pattinson Really, Really Hates Twitter! Is He Justified?

Wed, September 7, 2011 5:40pm EDT by 58 Comments

Rob has never been a huge fan of social networking and now he says if Twitter didn’t exist he’d finally be at peace! Do you think he’s being dramatic or totally justified?

Robert Pattinson recently sat down for a long interview with Premiere magazine where he shared a lot about filming Breaking Dawn and seeing Kristen Stewart look like an alien as Bella. Another revelation he made involved Twitter, the social networking site Rob has never particularly loved. He explained why he hates it so much!

“In LA I have at least 40 seconds from the moment I arrive somewhere, before I get asked for my autograph,” he said. “It’s Twitter’s fault. If this website didn’t exist, I’d be in peace.”

Rob went on to explain how he knows he’s been spotted. “When I cross a glance at someone, they hurry to get their phone out. I know perfectly well that I’m screwed and that I’m going to spend a big part of my day shaking people off. It’s frustrating.”

On the one hand, it’s a shame Rob can’t always get privacy, but on the other, that’s the price of fame. Do you think he’s justified in his anger, or should he just relax? We know how much you Twi-hards love finding out where Rob is via Twitter but now that you know why he resents the site, will you take a stand against Twitter in the name of Mr. Pattinson? Sound off below!

If anyone can’t see what the media and fans do to these actors/actresses, BLIND. People are crazy these days, I totally agree with Robert about having privacy. We all see it on reality T.V. and documentaries. Roberts doing a pretty good job staying away from social media unless I’m not looking in the right place. ;0)

I think Robert is right in saying that Twitter and other social networking sites are rubbish. There a shed for gossip. I will be honest I have Twitter, Facebook, etc and its nice that people know what your doing in the world but not to the extent that if your a celebrity and you post something the rest of that site will know in seconds and find what that persons said and somehow find it hilarious and hot. I am 18 and if I can demolish these sites a would!!!!!

I can understand his frustration, but as stated above, it comes with fame! Rob is loved and adored by many (including me :) xoxo) and it would be totally exciting to ever meet him. Celebs have to understand they are loved and idolized and with that, people are going to want to approach them, take picture, get autographs etc… Like i said im sure it is very frustrating to be approach so much, but Rob I think you should relax a bit and be thankful that so many people adore you :) Just think…If it weren’t for all your fans honey you wouldn’t be getting paid! :-)

i think that is true having people say things that really get you mad, there are people that like him or you and some that dont, people think different, like me i love all the twilight movies and i think they should make it into a t.v show, but some people dont, it is ok what people say you dont have to lesson…… if you dont wont to

Being an actor should not be a the reason citizens have the right to know every detail of their life. Being an actor is a trained profession meant for entertainment as a character on screen or a play. Do you follow a jugglers every movement? Or perhaps an oprah singer? No. We are all human and all deserve the right to privacy. Give the man some room the shop for a shirt, get a beer or see a movie. Don’t be so obsessed with an idea of popularity or fortune a crush u have. How worldly are yall?

I hope the two stars can resume their happiness. Add up all the good and it will outweigh the moment. I know you need each other to work through it.because both of you are losing something very special.

Hey, it’s not our fault he’s so damn sexy. Anyone would love to be in his place right now. BUT..since he does have his rights & I have mine, I shall go with what my heart desires. I HATE TWITTER. Goddamn it, now Katy Perry won’t follow me anymore..

I think Rob will not be able to get away from the whole twitter thing, If he is on twetter or not, just getting spotted somewhere is all it takes, mybe sence he has said how he feels mybe fans can take concern for hes feelings because all celebrities need that at some point.

I do believe he has the right to be angry about twitter reporting every move he makes the minute he makes it. It should not be the price he has to pay to do the work that he has always dreamed of doing and trained and studied hard to do. He is a very talented actor who deserves to be able to live a normal life and do the work he loves without everyone chasing him down every time he steps outside his door because of twitter. I wish him luck in all his future endeavours and hope that people will leave him alone in his personal life.

I agree with him.just because he is Famous doesn’t mean every time he goes into pubic he should have to have people all over him. I am sure it gets old, and every thing he does or every place he goes isn’t every one’s business. Thats for any one thats famous. plus I think its pretty lame if you see him out and tell the world that you saw him and where he is at. I know if I saw him out. I would just be happy that I saw him. I wouldn’t tell any one else and I wouldn’t draw attention to him. If he wanted attention I am sure he would make it known. I think he is awesome, and love his movies but people should have some respect and don’t make yourself look like a fool either. You know those people that start yelling and running up on them.

I totally understand and can only imagine how hard it must be to live a “normal” life this way. Fame is awesome, but it shouldn’t take away someones right to any privacy at all. He can love the fame, be really thankful and love his fans, but don’t you think maybe he’d love to walk his dog in peace, be able to go bowling or even catch a concert and NOT get mobbed. Wow, did Twilight ever come with a price…but the beautiful & talented Kristen was also part of that package. I adore you and think you’re so talented…you stay the course…I know Bel Ami & Cosmopolis are due out soon, then Breaking Dawn part 2 in November…it’s still going to be hard for awhile, but things will get better.

I totally agree with you! First, they want fame.. then they nag about fans following them.. what the heck?!?! The Spanish singer Julio Iglesias said something like this once, and when he realized it, he began to thank every fan that evers crosses his way! I looooove R.Pattz and once I saw him in LAX, good think I didn’t ask for an autograph, I would’ve been sooo disappointed if he had said no or something!
