Reese looks gorgeous in the October issue of Marie Claire, where she opens up about her divorce from Ryan Phillippe and her new at home life with Jim Toth.
Reese Witherspoon went through a difficult time when she filed for divorce from her husband Ryan Phillippe, when their kids, Ava and Deacon were just eight and three years old. In a new interview with Marie Claire, Reese, 35, admits that being a single parent was beyond stressful and she’s so thankful to have met the man of her dreams.
“I was hard on myself when I got divorced. And until I got remarried, I don’t think I realized how stressed I was,” Reese says in the October issue of Marie Claire, out in stores now. “I feel so much relief. I don’t think I realized how stressed I was being a single parent. It was really, really stressful. It’s not easy on anybody.”
“I think Nora Ephron says in one of her books, ‘You know, don’t kid yourself, divorce is really hard on your children. It’s really hard. Children will not be better for it.'” Reese reflects. “I mean, there are extenuating circumstances. I’m sure everybody’s life is different, so I shouldn’t say that. But it’s really traumatic. Now I feel a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband.”
That man being agent Jim Toth, who swept Reese off her feet after her public break-up with Jake Gyllenhaal. “You know, somebody close to me once said, ‘Oh, no man will ever accept your children.’ And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life,” Reese says. “I was determined to find somebody who would make that not true. And I got lucky. I did. I got very lucky, and he’s so wonderful with the children,” Reese gushes. “I’m very blessed.”
We’re so happy that Reese is finally settled and truly in love. We can’t wait for her to start making babies with Jim!
