The singer, who announced her big news on stage at the VMAs on Aug. 28, was scheduled to start shooting the movie in January 2012 — right around when she’s due to give birth!
But unlike pregnant Hilary Duff, who was dumped by the producers of Bonnie & Clyde when she announced her pregnancy — director Clint Eastwood considers Beyonce, 29, worth the wait and he’s rescheduling the entire shoot, HollyBaby.com‘s sister site Deadline.com exclusively reveals!
The musical is about an up-and-coming singer (Beyonce) who falls in love with an aging rock star. The most famous version, in 1976, starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the lead roles. Babs even won an Oscar for a song she wrote for the soundtrack.
According to Deadline.com Clint Eastwood plans to use the delay to find a leading man to star opposite Beyonce. He had hoped to cast Leonardo DiCaprio, but he turned the role down.
The decision to wait for Beyonce’s baby comes just days after Hilary Duff was ditched from the Bonnie & Clyde remake, with a $100,000 payoff, after announcing her pregnancy!
Do you think Beyonce is going to be worth the wait, HollyMoms? And tell us, who should play her love interest?
