Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean Tells Justin Bieber: This Is How You Make Your Career Last!

Sun, August 28, 2011 11:39am EDT by 8 Comments

A.J. says to the Biebs: Stay true to yourself and your fans!

A.J. McLean and the Backstreet Boys have had a long, successful career and A.J. tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively how fellow pop star Justin Bieber can have the same longevity!

“Don’t listen to the record companies, don’t listen to anything else or whatever the media says, good bad or different, stay true to yourself, stay true to your music and listen to your fans!” A.J. tells us at CARRERA presents Perez Hilton’s One Night In Los Angeles at the Wiltern Theater on Aug. 27.

That sounds like good advice to us! And since Justin is so great with his fans, we’re sure he’ll listen!

– Reporting by Russ Weakland

Perez Hilton’s “One Night In Los Angeles” was sponsored by Cut The Rope™, SOUL by Ludacris, and popchips.

Okay, AJ (or any BSB, for that matter) is the LAST person who should be giving any advice to anyone else. Sure BSB had a long career which is no doubt impressive, but these are also the same guys who bounced from one lousy management to another and are partly to blame for their own careers’ downturn. Not to mention that none of them know how to surround themselves with people intent on preserving their careers, can’t seem to keep it in their pants or kick their bad habits in the case of at least two members. I’m not a fan of Justin either, but if he wants role models who’ll give him good solid advice he’d better aim higher than a Backstreet Boy. AJ is not one who lives what he says, unfortunately.

What? Sorry Andy, but the fact that a person has made mistakes in the past doesn’t mean that it is the devil or something. Or perhaps you’re a saint or perfect? No, really! The important thing is that person learn from their mistakes to avoid falling back into them again. Also, advice from someone who has been through so much in his personal life and career should not be wasted. If he says, is for something!

And lest you still have doubts, yes, I’m a fan of Backstreet Boys until the day of my death and I love them with all the flaws they have, because they’re the most wonderful man on the planet! And you should think twice before you speak ill of them, ok?
