Selena Gomez Refuses To Drink Alcohol Even When She’s In Canada

Even though the legal age to drink alcohol in most of Canada is 19, Selena Gomez says she stands be her decision to wait until she’s 21! She’s still a Disney star at heart…

Despite being one of the most powerful young celebs in Hollywood, Selena Gomez is still adhering to American rules…even in Canada! During an interview with KISS 92.5 in Toronto, the 19-year-old performer was quick to respond when asked if she had tried alcohol, since she’s legally allowed to drink in the Great North.

“No! No. I’m American, so I still have to apply to that,” Selena said, smiling.

We’re pretty sure most American teenagers in another country would be excited to drink, but Selena is an exception. She’s always aware of her younger fans and doesn’t ever want to do anything that would disappoint them. Selena recently announced her Canadian tour dates though, so we wonder if she’ll change her mind after being there for several weeks on end!

How does not drinking make you a good or bad girl?
People drink for fun and that doesn’t mean they are bad behaved girls, they just enjoy a couple drinks and there.
She is entering her 20s and some people need to get over the fact that she is older.

Quebec is the only province that I know of that u have to be 18 Ontario and other parts its 19

that’s not being a “good girl.” if it’s legal then there’s nothing wrong with drinking, therefore she’s not being “good” for not drinking; she’s just not drinking.

The actual drinking age in Canada is 19. Only 3 provinces of the 13 provinces and territories allow people to drink at 18.

Americans used to drink at 18 during the Disco era, you would want to blame the Reagan administration for raising the drinking age to 21.

Legal drinking age in Canada is not 18.

Its differecnt depending on where you live. In Ontario the legal age is 19 and in Quebec the legal age is 18. Varies from province to province but most provinces have the age set at 19.
